Despite the absence of Paul Lee, Magnolia ran away with a 104-87 victory against NorthPort in the PBA Governors Cup, Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mark Barroca and Rome dela Rosa scored 20 and 17, respectively, to help the Hotshots win their second straight game, even without their star Paul Lee who is fresh from their Asian Games stint.

NorthPort had no answer to the backcourt of the Hotshots that include Barroca, Jio Jalalon, and Peter June Simon especially with the absence of their main man Stanley Pringle. The Batang Pier was forced to commit 27 turnovers. The Hotshots took advantage of NorthPort's miscues by converting 41 points off those turnovers. The Hotshots even set a new franchise record of 19 steals, led by import Romeo Travis who contributed seven.

The Batang Pier is now on a three-game skid. Aside from Pringle, they are also missing the services of Nico Elorde, Sean Anthony and Jeric Teng. Import Rashad Woods led the team with 25 points but it was not enough to beat Magnolia who are on a two-game winning streak.
