Phil Laak:  *mumbling and talking to himself*

Tom Dwan: "He's getting so much enjoyment out of this...haha", Tom Dwan says as  Antonio fidgets back and forth in his chair grinning...

Antonio: "It hurts to bite my tongue"

Phil Laak: "Can you show me both if I fold? I know I get to see one if I fold but will you show me both?"
Tow Dwan: "Alright"
Phil Laak [Speaks to Himself]: "See he knows that thats the question that people ask, and then if they say alright that means he has the quads or a full house cause he would never say alright because he knows that I know... that thats a sign of weakness but its not..."

*Antonio Laughing more*

Phil Laak [Speaks to Himself]: "No if he was a fish then I might call but he's an Uber genius and he knows to reverse but maybe he reversed it back twice... *more mumbling*... I have to call..."

Phil Laak: "What Do You Want Me to Do Durr?"

During another battle between Laak and Durr, Phil Laak locks himself away into his own mind and throws away the key while still standing present at the poker table. Not even Phil Laak could talk himself out of such a bad spot. Some things are just inevitable in poker and it seems that players like Phil Laak remain determined to see it through; even if he has to fulfill the role of becoming a "Pay Off Wizard," as Antonio calls it, by calling down too many hands when you know you are beat. I can attest that I have been in situations like this where I get so confounded by the actions in a hand that I talk myself into a a series of conundrums only to realize that at the end of the hand, I have just leveled myself.

In the end it usually doesn't matter what your opponent flips up at the river because it remains a variable that you cannot control;  what matters most is your ability to tame the situation in order to make the most clear-cut and rational decisions possible... only then can you rest easy no matter any outcome. Remembering this is how I would avoid flustering myself in key hands like the one showcased below.

"Dwan told the truth at every point in that hand" and maybe this is what helped drive Phil Laak nuts. Enjoy.

Be sure to follow along on reddit and other forums for continued discussion on crazy hands like these. Surely there are many who don't get all of the concepts of poker but I'm sure that there are some who appreciate a good laugh.

Thanks.
