Poker is no place for second guesses. As a matter of fact, it’s one of the few card games in which players can have the chance to strategize their way into winning the pot. And to get there, one must have a solid understanding of the game, and how you can build a good hand that will help you advance to the finish.

So to save yourself some time looking for hints and clues on how to build the perfect hand for Bitcoin poker, you must have the poker hand rankings deeply embedded into your winning strategy. Use this poker cheat sheet to memorize the power hand rankings in poker, from highest to lowest.

Poker Hand Ranking: Highs to Lows

1. Royal flush

As the name suggests, this hand is poker royalty. It’s the best possible hand you can come up with in poker. Once you set your eyes on a hand composed of A, K, Q, J, and 10, don’t miss a chance and take advantage of that royal flush. It only comes very rarely, so when it does, you have to be sure not to let it slide.

2. Straight flush

The straight flush also packs a punch. This hand is composed of five cards of the same suit, arranged in a sequence. Take 5,6,7,8,9 of diamonds, for example.

3. Four of a Kind

When you’re holding four cards of the same rank, say, 4 As, you get four of a kind. In most poker tables, with four of a kind you are prompted to keep a pair on your hand while having the other pair flashed on the table. In some instances, this hand is second best, just a few inches close from the royal flush.

4. Full House

Combine three cards of the same kind and a pair, and you get a full house. In the event that two players pull off a full house at the same time, the one with the higher three of a kind will win the pot.

5. Flush

Flush is the standard, slightly lower version of the straight flush. In this hand, you’re holding five cards of the same suit, but the numbers are not in sequence. You can form a hand from randomly arranged cards like 1-4-8-6-9, but all of them are diamonds, and that could pass as a flush. You just have to be careful, though, that all suits are the same.

6. Straight

When numbers are in sequence, even if they have varying suits, they count as a straight hand. It’s one of the most common five-card hands used in Bitcoin poker, but one you should be careful in pulling off, especially in Hold’Em.

7. Three of a kind

Otherwise known as a set, three of a kind simply means a hand with three cards of the same number. It’s called a set because it has a possibility of becoming a full house, which turns the hand much stronger when given a pair.

8. Two Pair

Just beneath the hand above is two pair, which is composed of two cards of the same rank, with two cards of another rank, and the kicker, which is a single card of the third rank.

9. Pair

As the name implies, pair is composed of two cards of the same rank, which is probably one of the most usual playing hands to use in poker.

10. High Card

Might be a little too ironic, but high card is at the bottom of the poker hand ranking. You get a high card when you’re unable to come up with any of the hands mentioned above. If at the end of the round, the players wind up with high cards, the player with the highest card gets to win.

Now that you’ve learned the hand rankings in poker, nothing’s stopping you from successfully and strategically earning that pot. You can definitely conquer the challenges of Bitcoin poker by properly using these hands at the right time and at the right place.
