Since my college days, I’ve always been fascinating by some different card games. Before starting Poker a few months ago, I knew about more than dozens of different card games (local). I’ve been playing these card games occasionally with friends and family for almost a decades but I had no idea about Poker till I created my account last month at scorumpoker.com. As I was very familiar with different card games, it didn’t take me long to learn the basics of Poker.

Since last month, I’ve been enjoying the Poker and been a regular participant of different free-roll tournaments as well as ring games on ScorumPoker. I considered myself as a beginner in Poker but with my Beginner’s luck I have won different free-rolls tournaments and have earned more than 100+ SCR within 1 and a half month.

ScorumPoker has been providing a great platform for the Scorum users to play Poker, they aren’t only providing us with the platform to play poker, but also have been hosting different daily/weekly free-roll tournaments. The best thing about ScorumPoker is we can play poker with anyone from any corner of the world at any time. What you just need is

  2. An account on ScorumPoker with the same username of Scorum
  3. A Stable internet connection
  4. You must be older than 21 year

When I wanted to start with Poker, I didn't find anything about beginner's guide about poker on this platform. After somehow learned the rules of poker from the different website I created my account on ScorumPoker.com but I also found some trouble on how to start on Scorumpoker at the beginning cause I didn't find any beginner's guide on how to start poker at ScorumPoker. I found that some Scorum users have no idea about Poker and want to learn Poker and wants to join us on Poker table, so I decided to write this beginner's guide which I think will be going to help them in understanding about poker. I already have created the beginner's guide to Cricket a few months ago here, so this will be my second beginner's guide on different games here on Scorum. This facebook game " WSOP – Texas Holdem Poker" also helped me a lot to start with Poker, you can also play it without any cost using your fb account.


1. Royal Flush

A card from 10 to Ace with same suits.
(It might be of any suits Spade, Club, Diamond and Heart). No other hand can bet the Royal Flush.


2. Straight Flush

A hand with a perfect straight sequence of cards of same suits except for Royal Flush

3. A four of Kind

As we all know in a single deck of a card, we have 4 same cards but each of the different suits. Out of 5 cards of hand, value/number of 4 cards must be the same with different suits.

4. Full House

The full house in Poker is the combination of 3 of a kind with the single pair. Below is the example of a full house that I got on ScorumPoker tournament.

Here with the combination of 3 community card QQJ with my 2 down cards QJ, I have the full-house made up from 3 of kind of a queen with the pair of jack, If Jack wasn't presented at that time on community cards I still could've got the full-house but this time with 3 of kind of Queen with a pair of jack.

5. Flush

The hands with all 5 cards of the same suit regardless of the continuous sequence, which means all 5 cards must be of the same suit whether it’s of Heart, Diamond, Club or Spade.

6. Straight

The poker hand with all cards making a perfect sequence regardless of the suits of each card. Which means the 5 cards must follow the order of A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K,A. The highest straight hand is 10, J, Q, K, A.

In this case, TheBull has got straight of 2,3,4,5,6 as he has 3,5 in down cards and 2,4,6 in the community card on the table. He could’ve also straight of A,2,3,4,5 even if 6 wasn’t present on community cards.

7. Three of A Kind

It’s the Poker hand with 3 cards of the same weight and the other two cards might be any other cards.

In the above picture of Straight, @Inthenow has 3 of a kind of aces as he got the 2 Ace on down cards and One A on Community cards, the other two cards of his hand will be 10 and 6 of the community cards because we can use only 2 down cards while making our best hand.

8. Two Pair

Two pair is the Poker hands with two different pairs in hand

Here, in this case, both @Jsock and @girolamom has two pairs as their best hand, @jsock has the two pairs of Ace and 8 while @girolamom has two pairs of King and 8. As we all know Ace is the highest rank card among all 13 cards, Jsock won that hand with a pair of Aces and 8.

9. One Pair

One Pair is the second last ranked poker hand in which the best poker hand with only one pair and 3 other different cards.

Here, in this case, both @Jsock and @Kryptokeeper have their best poker hand is One Pair. After a combination of down cards and community cards, @Jsock’s best hand is one pair of King with 967 and @Kryptokeeper’s best hand is one pair of 10 with 967. As we all know King is ranked higher than 10 so Jsock won that hand with the pair of King.

10. High Card

High Card is the Poker hand without any flush, pair, full-house and straight. Which mean all cards of the combined cards must be all different, not of same suits and with no straight sequence i.e. cards with gaps. In the case of High Card, the most powerful hand is the hand with Ace. In case if no one has the pairs, flush, straight etc, then the high card is used to decide the winner.

Now Let's look on how to start Poker on Scorumpoker

  1. Go to https://scorumpoker.com/ you will lead to screenshot1. Then click on Login 
  2. After step one you'll be lead to screenshot 2, then click on create an account section.

3. Fill the form and create the account, make sure you write your Scorum account name correctly


4. After creating account repeat step 1 and this time login with your newly created username and password. After successful login, you'll be lead to here. Click on play button to start playing poker

5. You will be load into this section, then if you want to start with freeroll tournaments click on a freeroll, then you will be lead to the following section with tournaments list and it's starting times.

6. Then click on the tournament you wants to join and after that click on the register button. Most of the time you can register in tournaments only from 1 hour before the tournaments start. Even after tournaments starts you can participate in the tournament with the late registration.

7. To enter some freeroll tournaments, you'll require the SCR Ticket, so make sure you've enough SCR ticket to join in the freerolls tournament. In case you don't have any SCR ticket, you can buy-in SCR ticket from cashier section shown in the 4th guide.

8. Initially, you have 500bits and 1 Chip as a signup bonus, so In case you need SCR ticket go to cashier section and click on Get Tickets/Bits or If you want to withdraw chips to your SCR wallet click on withdraw chips.
