It was a great first edition of the Little @Mikey Poker Series. We had 10 players come out to play in the morning tournament, which was more than I was expecting. The game was no-limit hold’em and the blinds increased quickly. As I had intended, I wanted these to be fun, short tournaments, not long marathons, especially since the prize is modest and these run every weekday.

As already mentioned in my announcement post, there will be a 25 SCR prize for the top player each week. @Celsius is also adding 25 SCR for any player not including himself, @mikey, @tadas, or at @goldhunter1 who cracks the top three of the standings in any of the 10 weeks (player only eligible of winning this special bonus one). That bonus may be taken advantage of in week 1 after we had a player who can qualify win the first ever Little @Mikey.

I will not recap every tournament, but I will try to provide recaps, tips, updates of the weekly standings, and announcements through blog posts. Thanks again for your support.

Here’s a look at the standings after the first day and a look in at the action.

Week 1, Day 1 Results

Since this is the first tournament of the week, these results do reflect the current leaderboard.

6. Philippe

5. Mikey

4. Kryptokeeper (1 point)

3. Tadas (4 points)

2. Goldhunter1 (6 points)

  1. PotPlucker (10 points)

Congratulations PotPlucker on a great win. This could be the start of a big week for you with 50 SCR up for grabs if you can finish in the top 3 and win Player of the Week (along with the SCR you will win in each tournament).

Game Action

Although he's been targeting me lately, it was nice to get some revenge on @nikoskol.

@Potplucker begins his big run by hitting an ace against Philippe to stay alive after both players went all-in pre-flop.

This was a very tough beat to take against Tadas. Instead of contending for the chip lead, I was nearly knocked out of the tournament due to a wild 10 on the river, giving Tadas a straight.

Goldhunter1 knocks Philippe out of the tournament in 6th place.

Goldhunter1 surprisingly reraises all-in over the top with just 10K. He sucks out on the river against Mikey when a shameful 10 comes (I'm not bitter or anything). Mikey is out in 5th.

Tadas ends up playing big with another weak hand and PotPlucker hits a straight on the river.

After a strong back and forth battle, PotPlucker hits a huge full house to win the tournaments.

Don't forget about the @teamgood 30 SCR freeroll every Sunday night at 6PM Central. We're happy to bring you as much poker action as possible and appreciate your support. Consider voting for @teamgood here: http://www.guiltyparties.com/scorum.
