Design by @inthenow, shirt sent as an award by Lucksacks Poker Leagues, also known as the Steem Poker League
The back of the shirt I was sent!

Guess who's the Lucksacks 2018 Player of the Year (POY)? The year isn't over, but apparently, the race for POY is! Read below for the details and my thank you to the other players and community.

In December of 2017, I found Steemit, a blog that rewards writers for their contributions. A month later, I found an even better community -- the Steem Poker League, also known as the Lucksacks Poker Leagues. I connected instantly with the group, and I've played a lot of poker this past year with new friends.

This past week on Discord, I received a message from @tuck-fheman and @bethalea asking for my shirt prize and letting me know that I had won the award. Our friend @inthenow created a special design (which is awesome), and the group sent me the shirt for free to show off my dominance over the past year.

Although there's still a month and a half left until 2019, it looks like I'm uncatchable. See the standings below.

Do you know what the best part of the leaderboard above is? It's that we've been able to get almost all of these players over to Scorum and the new Scorum Poker League (@ScorumPoker). Sevendst19 is @thebull, Celsius100 is @KryptoKeeper, and Tadas, Chops316, Generausd, Hopfarmnc, and PotPlucker are all active members on Scorum!

I have had fun playing with you all and am honored to be the 2018 Lucksacks Poker Player of the Year! I will have to up my game to continue this success and to compete for the Scorum Poker League Player of the Year, which I imagine will be a lot tougher to win.

Here's a look at my statistics for the year. As you can see, I've played a ton of poker with over 76,000 hands and nearly 1,000 tournaments. I've been able to win over 100 o them and finish in the money of over 300. Although I've played in more tournaments than anyone in the league, which is a top reason I am the Player of the Year, I'm most please with the statistic below.

I was able to lead the league in average tournament finish at "7." So even though I did rack up tons of points for playing in the most tournaments, I was also the most consistent player.

My Secrets to Success

I love to play and take poker very seriously. Although I have not exhibited this trait over the past month on the tables, I am usually very patient. I let the game come to me, and I'm able to make unlikely comebacks.

If you come and play with us on ScorumPoker.com and Lucksacks.com, I recommend to be patient, don't lose your cool, and learn as much as you can about your opponents (you can take notes and store them digitally).

Trust me, if I can do it, so can you, you just have to play ALL THE TIME and be open to improving your game on a daily basis. I'm still learning.

What the Future Holds for My Poker Career

As everyone here knows, I'm excited about Scorum and the Scorum Poker League. I will continue to play on both Lucksacks and Scorum Poker, earning cryptocurrency while supporting the league and the hosts, and hosting my own tournaments.

Earlier this year I played an in-person tournament in Chicago. Although money is a little tight, I do hope that I can play in more in-person tournaments thanks to my success here on Scorum.

I would like to once again thank the amazing people who have created, supported, and played at Lucksacks and Scorum Poker. Thanks to @tuck-fheman, @bethalea, @ats-david, @inthenow, and my many tough competitors, including @kryptokeeper, @tadas, and my buddy @thebull.

Can you take me down this year for Player of the Year!? Talk trash below!
