I saw the pic on twitter and had to share with the poker community here. The story was published on cardplayer.com today. Per the article the hand happened last week at a $1-2 cash game at Casino Del Sol Poker Room, Tuscon, AZ . Yes, there was an $18K jackpot that got paid out.

Wonder if the pocket 10s knew they were drawing dead after the turn? Crazy hand

I don't know how the action went. I guess quad 9s and full house 10101099 slow played to give KdQd the draw post flop. After KdQd makes the straight on the turn they are legit to stay but have to figure they are beat with just a 10 of diamonds to save them.

Per the article pocket 10s won $9K of the bad beat jackpot for coming in 2nd on the hand. The KQ got 1/2 the remaining $9K getting $4.5K on top of winning the pot. The rest of the table shared remainder of jackpot $4.5K getting about $500 each including player with the pocket 99s.

An interesting side note is that the player with the pocket 99 tried to argue with casino management that player with pocket 1010 was dead on the turn and should not win the jackpot. Least he got his money back that was lost in the hand plus $50.
