You may be asking yourself, 'what's a bad beat?' and lucky for YOU, I'm here to tell you! From our good friends at Wikipedia:

In poker, bad beat is a subjective term for a hand in which a player with what appear to be strong cards nevertheless loses. It most often occurs where one player bets the clearly stronger hand and their opponent makes a poor call that eventually wins with the turn or the river

card being dealt in their favor, for example.

So let's say I have AA and I bet. Everyone except for one player to my left, @tadas, folds. He calls. The flop comes rags - Ace ( something like A 2 7 offsuit) and wee! I have three of a kind so I bet again, heavy. @tadas calls again. The Turn comes and it's rags again, lets say a 5. I bet again, @tadas calls. The river pairs the board; there is now a pair of twos on board which gives me a Full House, or a 'boat'; Aces full of twos. I shove all-in and again. @tadas calls.

He flips over a pair of twos which gives him four of a kind... on the river... which is a bad beat and is making me angry at him even though I just made this entire scenario up. How could he continue to call me with pocket 2's?!?

Anyway, whatever. Come play at ScorumPoker and get your own bad beat story! I want to hear some, it's been a while since we've had a good venting session so... go! I'll give a personal full upvote for the one that makes me cringe the hardest, and feel free to vote on your favorites, too!
