Last year, my introduction to the "Wild North Trail" began my introduction to the "Wild" running series. This year he decided to continue his acquaintance with this series, so he chose the "Wild Top Trail". "Wild Top Trail" is a 17km spring trail run and is the second run in the "Wild" running series. In addition to running the Wild Wild Trail, I was also interested in the fact that he runs to Vyshgorod, near the locations of such eventual events as the "Night Marathon-Fest" and New Year Half Marathon "Yole".

Registration

Registration for the "Wild Top Trail" race is on the website vseprobegi.org. When registering for a race, the participant can choose one of two distances of 8 or 17 kilometers. The starting fee is 8 kilometers - 500 UAH for a distance of 17 kilometers - 550 UAH. The route of the main trail distance - 17 kilometers consists of two circles of 8 kilometers each and a set of altitudes for each circle of 300 meters.

Run

When planning my running calendar for 2020, the "Wild Top Trail" trail race was to become my first spring trail, so I chose the distance for myself at 17 kilometers. But since the spring running calendar was planned back in 2019, the events of winter and especially early March 2020 have made significant changes to the first part of the running calendar this year, namely because of the worldwide coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19) and the introduction of quarantine. Therefore, from the 6 running events planned for March and April, most of them were postponed to later dates. The "Wild Top Trail" became the last running event in Ukraine before the introduction of quarantine.

The launch of the "Wild Top Trail" was scheduled for Saturday, so on Saturday morning, I began my journey to the already known from the previous races ("Night Marathon-Fest" and New Year Half Marathon "Yole") of city Vyshgorod and its waterfront.

The starting point of the "Wild Top Trail" is located on the territory of the beach club "Seals", where you could get your starting number, a chip, change into running gear and keep things in storage.

The route of the trail "Wild Top Trail" passed the hills, which are located near the Vyshgorod waterfront. The distance of 17 kilometers I chose consisted of two circles and had an altitude of 600 meters.

The most interesting Saturday of the day was to start at 12 o'clock when the starting point for the participants of the "Wild Top Trail" trawl gathered near the starting arch, which was located at the entrance to the beach club "Seals". After the start of the countdown, the introduction of participants with the Trail "Wild Top Trail" began. The trail route is quite interesting as it has a fairly large number of ascents and descents.

The organizers of the Wild Top Trail decided almost immediately to introduce the participants to the ascents that await the members of the trail on the route. Therefore, after about 300 meters, the participants expected the first rise. Next, the participants expect the first rather interesting section of the route, as it passes through the surrounding fields and the territory of small forest plantations, spread on the Vyshgorod hills with many ascents and descents.

After the participants admire the local landscapes, a small asphalted section awaits them at the end of which there is a food outlet, and then again the participants are expected to walk through a small forest plantation.

Before the end of each circle of participants, there is a jog along the trail with pretty good views to the Kyiv reservoir at the end of which there is a steep descent along which the food item was located.

The finish, as well as the start, was on the Vyshgorod waterfront near the entrance to the beach club "Seals".

Impression

Like its predecessor, the "Wild North Way", the spring trail, the "Wild Top Trail", received a pretty good running event (organizers, volunteers, and photographers) with an interesting marked route. The "Wild Top Trail" run turned out to be quite fascinating with steep climbs and slopes, jogging through the surrounding fields, forest paths, and hills that gave a pretty good view of the Kyiv Reservoir.
