Hi Scorum! My name is Herbert, but I've also been known to be called "Chunk". I am a 26 year old guy from Vermont, currently living there but hitting the open road with my dog in a few weeks to deal with some personal battles.

At one point in time, a long long time ago, I was on track to becoming what was considered a "professional" snowboarder; but life got in the way and I never took it all that seriously to begin with.

In the years since my activity level dwindled dramatically. I think it went hand in hand with the depression I fell into. The desire to be as active as I once was was still strongly present yet I lacked the motivation to get my life together and do something about it.

That is, all until recently. This spring I made a commitment to train for and run a marathon. That got cut short after only the first few weeks when I broke my ankle snowboarding. During the ankle recovery, I got really out of shape and have since been slacking on getting back to it.

I've been an active member of the Steemit.com community since January and a friend of mine there told me about Scorum recently. It was lingering on the back of my mind for awhile but I hadn't actually attempted to check out the platform, until this morning. I finally kicked myself in the ass to go for a run and when I got home I found that the Steemit servers were down. I was feeling pretty good about my short yet relieving run and Scorum popped into the front of my brain.

I decided that I was going to re-commit to my marathon training and use Scorum to maintain motivation. A lot of my friends "talk about running" but no one actually runs so it's hard to find that encouragement where I currently am at. I'm hoping to connect with some other people who are in my shoes, and also more experienced runners, to get some support and go through the process with some others. I hope to try to blog daily about my progress and I hope to make some friends in the process!

I am still very new to Scorum so any tips/suggestions would be vastly helpful. I look forward to sharing my journey with you all and also seeing what everyone else is up to! Cheers!
