Soon it will be time to put on gloves, and to gear up more completely for these runs. After a long, hot summer, and a very warm and pleasant fall, the trees are becoming very bare, the air now has a bite to it, and Christmas lights are showing up outside.

Last night I just ran wherever I felt like running, and had an "exploratory run" of about 6 miles. I actually ended up in a muddy baseball or soccer field at one point because I couldn't really see where I was going, and the small path I had turned onto ended abruptly.

It's things like that that make the journey interesting, though, and happily, I found my way back to the road through the mud.
