Toyama Marathon Blog, Episode 3 - Lounge Music in May
Recently I've been running to an Apple Music playlist entitled "chill LOUNGE" created by Dylan Gregory Bishop. I find the juxtaposition of the bright, hot sunshine of May, the perfume of flowers, smells of the mud from rice paddies all around, and the chilled-out looped piano, electronic beats with vintage crackling audio make for an absolutely wonderful high-running experience. Do check out the playlist. It's a good one. As for my times, I'm consistently faster this season than I was last season. I'm averaging about 8' 30" a mile nowadays. Last year this time I was around 9-something a mile. When I first began running about 2 and 1/2 years ago, I was running 10 or 11-minute-or-more miles. I'm feeling so positive about this improvement! I'm inspired to train all the more now! How about you other marathon runners here on SCORUM? What discoveries have you been making via training? Let me know in the comments if you can. I'd love to hear from you! -GS Previous posts in this series: Episode 1 - https://scorum.com/en-us/running/@running-japan-77/toyama-marathon-blog-episode-1-music-springtime-and-looking-ahead-to-summer Episode 2 - https://scorum.com/en-us/running/@running-japan-77/toyama-marathon-blog-episode-2-back-to-the-books-and-escaping-being-maysick
