I have had quite some luck getting good support here on Scorum and my year of experience on Steemit along with the fact that it allowed me to start off with a lot of friends here on Scorum really made all the difference.

One of the problems on Steemit is that the 'everyone for themselves' mindset i quite dominant. The way I see this kind of model work at it best is when big accounts support the mid-size accounts while the mid-size accounts support the smaller accounts so the smaller accounts can support each other.

This way the Small accounts that start out without willing to invest anything are able to actually get some post earnings which highly increases their chance to work out on the platform. The mid sized accounts are in a position where they are able to give something without the need to get anything in return because they have some whale support & the whales are the ones who profit most by a healthy ecosystem which increases demand and makes the price of their investment go up.

With Self upvoting being so profitable, the rise of the bid bots and the somewhat broken curation system on Steemit, the whale support dropped a lot because many started to sell their upvotes. This put many dolphins in a position where they had to pay for the upvotes they used to get for free. To do this they were forced to sell their own upvotes which gave them less room to support minnows. This has gotten to a point where even tiny accounts lease SP out to bid bots which at times is very frustrating to see. I'm hoping the communities function on Steemit will improve all this. I still very much enjoy Steemit despite these issues.

Scorum took a fresh start and it would be nice to see this platform somehow not get burried in the greedy mindset of it's members. Right now I'm looking to grow my account as much as possible so I can give back more later on. It is still rather difficult to browse new content on Scorum right now in a time efficient way with the feed function not being active yet. As a way to give something back, I will be spreading out my upvotes today to posts that could use some.
