While some club are know to change managers as if they are changing cloth, there are some clubs which have retain managers for a considerable long period of time and in this series, I will be talking about some longest serving managers in EPL.

Number 1.
Name: Sir Bobby Robson
Club: Newcastle United
Duration of stay: September 1999 - August 2004
Achievement there: He got to Newcastle after Ruud Gullit resign. In his first season, he led the team from bottom to 11th position, he guide them to finish 4th in 2001/2002 session and 3rd the next session. He make them reach semi Final of UEFA cup in 04/05 but lose to Marseille.
Name: Jim Smith
Club: Derby County
Duration of stay: 1996 - 2001
Achievement: During his first session, he led them to runner up in division one and make Derby county to promote to premier league, he make them finish in the middle of the table for 3 consecutive season but narrowly escape relegation in subsequent two seasons.
Name: Gerard Houllier
Club: Liverpool
Duration of Stay: 1998 - 2004
Achievement: On his arrival, he first restore discipline to the team in a bid to rebuild it. Some players were sold and some left while he also purchase some as part of plan to rebuild the team. The rebuilding effort show positive effect when he won for Liverpool league cup, FA cup, UEFA cup and finish 3rd in premier league in 2000/01 season. He also won super cup and shield in August 2001. His later failure led to his departure.
