We all might have/might not have witnessed the invasion of bots on the 'Steemit' Platform. But, in case you are not familiar with the upvote bots. These are the fellow developers who program some automated voting bots. They ask you to send some coins and in return you would receive a promised reward multiplied by a couple of times of your investment. In many users point of view, this was a virus to the system and for others it was a door to heaven.

Why, am i saying all this here?

Because, behold all scorumers... first bot has been officially landed and is testing on Scorum. Please check comment section on Mr @Mikey's post.

They would update the information soon, but i just felt to give a pre-picture of the Pros and Cons. I would share a couple of them here, then its up to us all to decide weather to welcome them or not:

Pros:

  • New users can pay for upvote and get more views for their content
  • More views, means more curation and rewards

Well, by far i only see these advantages, please correct me if wrong.

Cons:

Now, fasten your seat belts...

  • Larger SP users just delegate their SP to bots to earn a regular income without typing a word
  • Due to business making nature of the bots, they would upvote any content even if it is not up to standards. And, 1 line can worth up to 500$ with purchased votes. Please, check steemit trending for a glimpse.
  • Spamming on the platform sending same automated messages that you got a vote from XYZ
  • Gets very hard to find good post, because almost every second post is upvoted by 100s of fake users that bot is using.
  • Critical damage to writers and they would leave the platform or only whales would survive.
  • With time, the reward starts to get smaller and the expenses increase.

I personally preferred to join here because of absence of these bots and clear and fair curation, but seems like its starting to be a bit dark...

What do you think?
