For those who are new here, scorum is a sport platform for sport bloggers, readers and commentators. You can post anything about sport, read sport articles as well as commenting on the sport articles. On Scorum you must not be a professional writer before you start to write. Anyone who has something to say about sports on any sport games can write about it and post it on scorum. But I believed that they are some guidelines for writing articles which should be followed by all those who want to start blogging on this platform.

My aimed is to direct those who are not professional in writing articles or have never done something like this before. Have it in my that you must not be a professional writer before you start writing articles, you could be a freelancer writer without having any certificate as a writer. The only thing you need is to follow the writing guides or rules. As for me, am just a freelancer writer without any certificate in writing. I have sold some short eBook on Amazon which I wrote some years ago. The only thing I did was to follow the writing guides or rules. So I thought it wise to help some one learn how to start writing articles with no experience.

CHOOSE A TOPIC

This is the first most important step in writing a post or article. Choose a topic that you know best and have plenty of information about it. Do not choose a topic because many people are writing and reading about it. When you write about a topic that you know best, you are more fluent and flexible.

Most people do not know how to choose a topic, they choose a topic which has little or no literature review (what others have written related to your topic). This make it difficult for you to have reference for some citation or reference for your topic. For example if your topic is "Top 10 richest athletes" You have to refer to the website or person that you get this information since as you did not do the findings of the Top 10 richest athletes. In the body of your topic you can write it like this "According to Forbes magazine, Messi, Roanldo, Nadal, James etc are the top 10 richest athletics". Or you can write it like this Messi, Roanldo, Nadal, James etc are the top 10 richest athletics source (Forbes magazine). It is good to pick a topic which has literature review because it will help you to back your articles and be more professional.

CITATION OR REFERENCE

Do research about the topic that you are writing in order to have pre information about the topic that you are writing which will help you to have more information about the article that you are writing. Citing or reference also helps you to back the statistic or figure which you have on your blog.

Remember to look only for references that is related to your topic, do not look for references that are not related to your topic in order not to go off topic. You can have a lot of words from references in your topic but make no sense at all. Do not forget to add or attach the name of the person, links, books, articles etc from where you get the reference or literature review as shown above.

SPLIT YOUR TOPIC INTO SUB-TOPICS

After when you have your topic, you should split it into sub-topics. breaking down your topic into sub-topic is actually good because it helps you to come up with the body of the topic. Sub-topic are children of the main topic. They communicate what the main topic is talking about. Your sub-topic should be connected to the main topic in order to keep the article coherent. Let's use the topic "Top 10 richest athletes" to split it into sub-topic.

Which sport they play, their clubs and records.

How much each of them world.

How do they earned such money(either by salary or commercial or both)

This is a short and brief way to split your topic into subtopics and start to write on the the subtopics which is related or connected to the main topic. Articles with no sub-topics have no direction, focus and aim. The writer can easily write about something that is off topic when he or she has not developed sub-topics. You need to split your topic in order to direct and guide you. Remember that the sub-topics make up the body of the of the article so you much make sure that you have developed sub-topics which match with your main topic in other not to go off topic.

DEVELOP THE SUBTOPIC

Developing a sub-topic is vital because it elaborates the main topic. Since the sub-topic derived from the main topic, it helps to explain the concept or aim of the main topic to the reader. Let us use an example of "Which sport they play and their clubs" from the subtopic above. Here the writer is requires to write the types or sport that they play and the names of the sport clubs that they belong. It could be that, Messi from F.C Barcelona who plays soccer for 12 years, 5 times winner of FIFA player of the year. Each sub-topic paragraph or content should be independent from the other sub-topics.You can represent data or statistics with bar chart, pie chart or table in order to make you article more understandable and professional in the sub-topic. Do not forget to give reference or literature review where necessary in your sub-topic

ADD PICTURES OR IMAGES

Provide images in order to catch the eyes of your reader and keep them scrolling down the article. Some readers love to read and see photo because that photo act as an evidence of the authenticity of your articles. Images also spice your articles, some ready may spend time looking at images in your article that caught his or her attention.

Even thought this is not much requires but it is very essential and important when it comes to attracting the eyeballs of your reader on scorum. A picture worth a thousand word. This means that just a single picture could explain a whole meaning of an article. photo in your articles are like spices in your soup. Photos help to explain more better what your topic is all about. Add photos that are relevant and related to the topic of your scorum post. some readers like to sea graphic in blogs which facilitate they way they read rather than just reading only text. Please add photo of high quality which will not bored the reader or too blurred for the reader to sea. Upload photo with JPG, PNG or GIF standard. Do not add much photos in your articles because too much spices might spoiled a soup. so add photo when necessary. I recommend that each sub-topic should have a photo which explain what the sub-topic is talking about.

GIVE STATISTIC OR FIGURE

In your topic, enable to give statistic on what your are writing, you might not go to the field to get the statistic but you could cite or refer to some one statistic as shown above. Adding statistic to your articles makes it more professional, accurate, authentic and reliable for the readers. You have to do some research to have some statistic in order to prove your points. Make sure you get your statistics from a reliable source. For example if you are writing about "Most Win FIFA world cup countries" You can get the statistic of those countries that have won FIFA world cup many time from FIFA website. Remember to site or refer to FIFA website for the source of the statistics.

CONCLUSION

It is good for your article to have a conclusion, your conclusion should be your opinion about the title of the article that you have written. Your opinion could be for or against the article that you have written. Remember that, you must not add conclusion to your articles. So do not bother to add conclusion if you do not know what to add. For example, to conclude from the topic "Top richest footballer" you can conclude that, in my own opinion, you do not know how rich this players are because some of them have not declared their bank account and some players like Messi has tax fraud or tax evasion as well as C. Ronaldo. Also, you can conclude that, they would be a some players like Kylian Mbappe who is growing rapidly in the soccer world who will likely join this list of richest athletes.
