THE JOURNEY.
While the scorum management is busy celebrating 6 months of launching the blogging platform, some of us, like yours sincerely, is celebrating more than one year of being a bona-fide member of Scorum, the best cryptocurrency sports blogging platform on mother earth today.
I think it was precisely on the 7th of December, 2017 that i came across a content on steemit regarding a bounty for steemit users. According to it, users who successfully got registered following 3 stages of instructions will benefit from a 1 million bounty specially set aside for steemians. Surprisingly, i found myself reading it to the end, i being an individual who hardly reads contents that are not in line with his inclination.
Even without fully reading and properly understanding Scorum's road map, my instinct told me this is something special and must be pursued with unreserved enthusiasm. I have participated in numerous bounties and airdrops before, but none of them have interested me as Scorum, nor was there any who had shown the kind of commitment to purpose as the Scorum team.
I will never forget @yauhen, one of the behind the scenes men of Scorum who was patient enough to put me through the 3 step by step instructions, without which I might have gotten frustrated and chickened out. I must confess that I was not that technically sound at the time nor I am at the moment. :D.

The first stage for a steemit user to become eligible for the Scorum's bounty is that one has to register his or her steemit account with scorum.
The next stage was to register my tweeter account and telegram to fully become eligible for the bounty which Yeuhen helped me through. Save for my tweeter account that was a little bit difficult at the time, the whole process went smoothly.
From the image above, it can be seen that there is 11,111.11 SP written with 9 registered users beside it. I may be wrong, but is signifies that i was the ninth user to register on the platform and the SP is supposed to be my bounty if we did not exceed 9. Of course the number grew and grew right up to the extent where my bounty came down to about 1k plus, including the little Scorum i bought during the crowdsale on 15th January, 2018. (I wish i can identify who those 9 people are). An old timer says hi. :D
To keep us busy and to make keep us interested, the scorum management introduced Sorum Draft - Daily Fantasy. It may appear funny to some of you, but that was the first time i have ever played fantasy football. Nonetheless, The experience was quite satisfactory to say the least, i got to win some fraction of scorum.
MY POOR PERFORMANCE.
I am sure some of you may say that with a head start of 1k plus, my SP should have reached the moon, well that may be true considering that there are lots of users who joined the platform few months after the launch of the blogging platform and have made thousands of SP's. I don't have to mention names, because any serious minded user on this platform knows them by name. Kudos to these guys, they made this platform what it is today. Having said that, it should be known too that there are other users which we started together with equal or more SP'S and still have less SP'S. Who was it that said "to each his own"?
FOOLISH ME.
At the onset of the blogging platform, there are some conceited users with impressive SP's who took advantage of being early adopters by engaging in the habit of self upvoting. To be candid, when i saw what was going on, i foolishly joined the band wagon. The habit didn't last for long, because certain users with good head on their shoulders kept their eagle eyes on the platform for any form of abuse. I was not directly approached, but when i saw what was said and done to abusers, common sense told me to side with the truth. let not what has happened to OTHER platforms happen here too. So i joined in the fight against abusers, since my SP wasn't too bad as well.
AN EMPLOYEE.
Let me digress. If i weren't a full time government employee, perhaps i might have built a reputation beyond my present level on the platform. I go to work from 8am and mostly close around 6pm. Ordinarily i shouldn't have the time to write stories but i do steal the time of my employer whenever possible to post on my blog. Being a devout christian, my weekends are usually occupied with church work, my family and perhaps go to my Badminton club to exercise.
A NIGERIAN.
Among some of the users populating this platform are Nigerians, and yours sincerely is one of them. There are a number of my compatriots that have brought one form of disrepute or the other to the platform. At some point, i felt like leaving because of shame. I do belong to a particular group of a reputable scorum users who meant well for the platform. we make the habit recommending new users who bring quality contents to the platform. The sad thing is, each time a Nigerian is recommended for "SHOW SOME LOVE", he or she will be discovered to have been a Plag, a Fake or has pulled a shady move. That however, does not mean that there are no other Nigerians who made me proud. Most of the contests going on on the platform will have a Nigerian emerging as either being winner or at least among the first 3. So like i said some time ago, "WE NO DEY CARRY LAST".
THE MAIN THING, AIRDROP.
As stale and as monotonous as the story of the airdrop may be to some users here, my journey cannot be complete without mentioning it. I don't know if other platforms have been as generous as scorum, but that airdrop blew my and other users minds. I was expecting an additional 2k or so SP, to everyone's surprise, we got double while some got even more. The betting platform my be an additional landmark on this platform, however i must say that the effect is not as electrifying as the airdrop.
BALANCING ACT.
I try to balance my curation between my compatriots and the teeming wonderful friends i made on scorum. I also want to keep a reasonable percentage of my voting power. this situation makes it impossible to give an impressive percentage to my compatriots (who are too many by the way), my friends who i owe a lot to, and to new users with good contents. So in the event that you see me give your wonderful contents some meager percentage, please do understand. I am sure when the wind blows differently, i assure that you surely will receive 100%.
PARDON MOI.
Right now, i have 16k SP, 540 followers and i follow 264 and growing. On a good day, this may not be impressive, considering that i follow and have more followers on other social media networks. but the catch is this, the value of what i have here is thousand times better than these platforms. I have reprimanded myself for not being as friendly as possible to the users both on the platform and on telegram. But that is my nature i guess, pardon me, an introvert is what i am. I hope to be more engaging as i possibly can in the future, perhaps that will be my new year resolution. :D.
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.....
The other unpleasant thing going on on the platform which i think is worthy of mention are the fights going on in the telegram group chats and on the main platform. Whether one wants it or not, we are a collection of people with different backgrounds, education, tastes, believes, inclinations etc. There is no way one or two persons will not get on your nerves as a user, getting angry is natural, but having a tighter grip on what you say or do is what will give you the required respect on the platform. Your SP is immaterial when it comes to your relationship on this platform. Diplomacy and tact is an ingredient that one cannot do without, within or without this platform.
CABALS.
Some people have tried to berate the formation of cliques and groups on this platform. Is there anywhere in the world today where a collection of like minds are not found unerringly drawn to one another? Take the sporting clubs we have around the world, even while the game is on, some players only look for and get passes mainly from their cliques. If others have formed groups in other to advance their cause, no one is stopping any user here to go form his or her own group as long as everything is done in such a way that it does no harm to the platform. Besides this is a decentralized platform "thank God", too much emphasis should not be made on this issue i think.
INTIMIDATION.
As for those who think that their impressive SP's is to intimidate users who have disagreed with them in one way or the other, i think the platform and the users are mature enough not be behaving as kids. There are prescribed form of Flagging that if properly applied will be accepted even by the defaulter.
OLD TIMER.
So, know that when you see @izge on this platform, know that you are talking to an elder of the platform, if you think you are a curator, i have done so from day one, if you think that you are an offender, @yours sincerely was once an offender, if you are a flagger, i have flagged too, if you fight plagiarism, i have probably done so before you, if you are a content creator, i am trying in that department as well, if you think you have a temper, in person you may shiver, if you think you have SP, know that i have SP beside being a Superintendent in real life. The bottom line is this, "LET US WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF EACH AND EVERYONE ONE OF US".
APPRECIATION.
I thank @vlad and his entire team, my special friends on the platform (you know yourselves), my Naija people (i hail wuna) and the entire scorum community for the show of love and support since day one. The journey has been quite reinvigorating if not renovating to say the least.. I am sure we still have lots of huddles to cross, but as long as we keep faith and remain focused, it will soon be "uhuru juu". TO THE MOON. :D.
