GIST.

The other day i was browsing through some internet stuff and came across this article about a young crypto enthusiast who got large amount of bitcoins mistakenly sent to him.

It was reported that radio France carried the story of the Nigerian who received bitcoins worth about $80,000 mistakenly sent to his account. The interesting aspect about the story or in fact that young man is that he returned the whole coins to the rightful owner.

The young man whose name is Chung Keith Mali logged into his account and saw a whooping 7.8 bitcoins and when he saw that, he Immediately knew that the coins were mistakenly sent to him, as such must be returned to its owner.

Chung who lives in Abuja and trades in cryptocurrencies decides to track the original owner via numerous cryptocurrency WhatsApp groups. But all efforts to trace the owner through WhatsApp was in futility until a friend advised him use twitter.

.

When three days passed and there was no response from anyone, the post on twitter didn't take too long to elicit a response from an unnamed Nigerian politician who asked not to be mentioned. The said politician was able provide the correct encryption code for the transaction.

I tried to put myself in his shoes in this crypro drought, especially for we on scorum and asked myself, will i be so noble as this young man to even make enquiries about the mistaken transaction of such huge amount money? Truthfully, i have to find myself in that situation before i will be able to know about what action i will take.

I consider this act one of the noblest act that one can come across. The fact that it was done by a Nigerian is something else. I say this because Nigerian youths are in the news for the bad reasons. This goes a long way to amplify that we still have good people around, so painting everyone with the same brush is wrong.

I am sure the young crypto trader will go a long way in the crypto world for building trust and a reputation for himself especially in Nigeria.
