As you may know, a while back I had to remove the Scorum branding from our game Whack Your Zombie Neighbour on the Playstore because the Google team deemed Scorum a "Gambling Brand" that we weren't allow to advertise in our game. This was a big disappointment for me at the time because when we initially launched the game there was virtually no betting posts on Scorum as Bet Scorum had not been launched so I couldn't foresee this being a problem.

Fast forward a few months and with Bet Scorum launching - which may I add is the best sports betting site related to crypto hands down and the amount of posts naturally exploded and at any given time you would think the Scorum blog is purely a betting focused site - may it is maybe it isn't? This for me is the way it should go in the future for Scorum.com - betting and sports related posts to betting whilst also still allowing people to write about sports in general as this is useful for promoting the overall Scorum brand connected to sports.

Bet Scorum whether illegal in certain countries or not has a lot of potential. It is bar far not just the best looking crypto betting platform but also the most user friendly and accessible once you get into SCR. If SCR was actually on a big volume exchange it would probably promote benefit the use of the betting site substantially such as getting on to Bittrex. Especially if they got both a BTC and ETH pairing. But let's not digress.

My question today is:

How hard would it be for the Scorum team to duplicate this blogging platform onto a new domain and focus it on eSports content alone? (not betting on eSports which can remain on Scorum.com)

I think it would be a smart move for several reasons I list below:

> It would give that domain a more clear focus on competitive gaming - e.g. scorumesports.com or scresports.com or something else.

> It would allow Scorum to corner the blogging market supporting egaming, not just for news on egaming but also for supporting the publicity and development of blockchain based games made on other linked platforms such as Enjin where Swolesomes - Cat in Mech's is being produced.

> It would encourage more gamers to join the platform because they would be more encouraged that their posts have a chance being featured on a solely game oritentated site and naturally they would be attracted to a purely gaming blog where they can earn SCR for gaming related content.

> It would be easy to recruit Blockchain and eSports games developers to join the site because the site would have a strong gaming and eSports brand.

> Big One* Online betting is only legal in 4 states in the US. So most of the US population can not use Bet Scorum - it is illegal. The most wealthiest states in America and the most populous are included in those states that deem online betting illegal by law. Yet Americans represent the most attractive and higest earning market for advertisers. Therefore Scorum is at a loggerhead with a huge population who per capita have the most money to spend in the world. Having an eSports separate domain not related to gambling would allow Scorum to penetrate this lucrative market where there are currently over 200 million Americans playing games on atleast on device with more than half of those on multiple devices as well.

> Big One* Last but certainly not least, it would allow me to return Scorum branding into our mobile versions of our games going forward. For me this is essential not just for te WYNZ mobile game but also for other games that may wish to associate themselves with Scorum and want a clear way of doing so without the gambling side effecting their image. This would be particularly key for certain games produced by or for Americans where betting is illegal online and where most of the US market - the most highest paying mobile gaming audience would not be able to access such games associated with a gambling brand.

An eSports brand website would be family friendly and therefore attract a far greater range of companies interested in advertising on that site too. I don't think duplicating the existing Scorum site and then deleting away most categories would be too much work compared to other endeavours coming from a web development background myself.

Right now the fact that this website has a betting orientated theme means atleast 70% of the world's companies and advertises won't want to advertise on it. Whilst that is not necessarily a bad thing because Scorum is a sports niche site and that in of itself is more attractive to certain companies that are adult and sports orientated in their product and service focus, eSports is trying to become more family focused with younger gamers getting involved in every country around the world, even below the legal age where parents are supervising their teenagers to take part. ScorumEsports.com would open up a new audience to the SCR coin and the Scorum brand.

Whack Your Zombie Neighbour Update and What It Can Mean to a Scorum eSports Website

A new kill occurring in the game update coming this month

Our current mobile game has racked up over 80,000 downloads so far and is currently averaging 1,000 installs per day. As of now it has over 6,000 active players and growing. We have a big update to that game coming this month that could see the game hit 200,000 downloads within three months given the content being added to the game and the likelihood of more Youtube exposure. Especially given the creativity of the new kills.

Having a Scorum eSports brand to advertise without fear of it being associated with gambling and being banned on Google Play would be of huge benefit to SCR and Scorum.

Below you can find the new branding for the browser version of the game where the Scorum branding remains in tact. Here we have focused it more on eSports as we look to improve the potency of the Scorum brand within our game and it's relevancy and keep the image clean from betting. The browser game itself receives around 1,000 plays a day. The new branding will send people to the eSports section of the Scorum website.

The browser game is a bit different to the mobile one because we host it directly on whackit.co and have flexibility in what we do with our advertising. Nevertheless I did think the unfortunate circumstance of having the app version temporarily removed from Google Play presented an opportunity to re-evaluate Scorum's relationship with eGaming and eSports. Having Scorum advertised from it's eSports perspective in the game will be a far more effective approach than just Scorum itself. The new branding will redirect gamers to the eSports section of the current website for now.

Below you can take a look at the rebranding:

An ent tree somehow get's involved in a tennis kill in WYZN - you will soon see how in the new update

As you can see the Scorum logo is kept in tact with the correct font style but we have made it more eSports orientated with the eSports avatar that dawns the Scorum colours - Green and Dark Blue.

So going forward what do you guys think of separating the eSports and gaming content on to a different domain tackling the points I raise above?

Scorum can keep eSports betting content on the main domain but have a much larger place for the discussion of eSports and eGaming on a much more focused website.
