Know Your Active Witnesses (Delegates) and How to Vote Them With Polarity (+Video)

Jotmax is here again and today, I'll be talking about the best Witnesses and how you can vote them even though the feature isn't available yet.

Who are the witnesses?

In other blockchains you have a process that is called mining and there is a network of millions of computers used for that in the world consuming a lot of electricity.

Scorum, Steemit, Whaleshares and Bitshares don't work that way and the Scorum blockchain is run by only about 50 servers at the moment, which produce the same amount of transactions as Bitcoin and Ethereum combined. The person who runs a Scorum server is called a "Witness/Delegate."

A witness is the equivalent of a miner in another blockchain.

How is Scorum different from Bitcoin?

On a technical level, the two networks rely on the same model of a blockchain, but are built upon different technologies and codebase.

Scorum is based on a new state-of-the-art blockchain technology called Graphene, which uses "witnesses" instead of "miners" to produce blocks.

The "delegated proof of stake" model of using witnesses instead of miners allows for greater efficiency in block production. With BTC, 100% of the new coins that are created are allocated to block producers (miners).

How to vote

When Polarity launches, add your account.

I have already entered my key so it logs in automatically.

When you have logged in, go to witness voting. Vote your witnesses like I did and that's all.

Click on 'Account', then on 'Witness voting'

Click on the green + sign then input the witness you wish to vote.

Check for the witness on the explorer.

You can only vote 30 witnesses so vote freely.
