In preparation for the first Scorum tournament here in Africa, we decided to make a second visit to get some facts needed for the event. The event is scheduled to hold in November as we have organized with Scorum Nigeria and members to make the event a successful one.
PS:
Sorry to all whose posts I haven't commented on in a long time, whose replies were not responded to and whose messages have not been answered. My inability is due to the fact that I am currently still working on personal projects which have a direct impact on my life.
There in the picture, me, El-Capitan and a new friend we met on the field. He is yet to on board as a member on Scorum.
Venue of the Event
This is Ogun State Public Recreation Centre, Toll Gate, Ogun State. It is just on the border of Lagos and Ogun and so it makes it easy for residents of both states and neighboring states to be present at the event.
Pitch Quality
Quality is important. We went to the pitch yesterday to make sure that the pitch was good enough to be played on.
The pitch is a beautiful one. Although the covering is a layer of artificial grass, it is solid and good enough for the match.
Artificial coverings are known to be dangerous as some can damage the knees of the players. In the case of our choice pitch, it has a layer of sand beneath it which makes it feel natural.
Pitch Booking
We are yet to make a booking although we have spoken to the management of the recreation centre. We would be doing that as soon as a date has been picked.
El-Capitan Tested the field with runs, jumps and some stances
The event is set to be a successful one as El-Capitan was already introducing Scorum to the athlete we met and some other people we met.
We can't wait due to the fact that lots of people seem to know about Scorum by 'word of mouth'. Some want to see proof that the platform really pays and is not a biased one.
Banner and Handbills
With great designs made by our designer, we are set to make prints of the handbills and banner.
Funding
Although planning and other activities are currently funded from our personal money, we would be glad if members of the community are willing to sponsor the event.
Its a Scorum thing. Let's promote it.
