Hey everyone! I am super excited to announce our witness @rougebot is officially up and running! When I started here a few weeks ago, I was more than happy to be joining a community that was honest, supportive, and full of great people. It was exactly what I had been hoping to find for a long time. I wanted to find other ways aside from just posting, upvoting, and commenting to support the Scorum community. What better way to do that than working with other great minds to encourage all users to help keep growing this unique platform? By running a witness, we are trying to support all community members as best we can to keep working hard and to continue encouraging one another. The best way to keep a great thing going is by continuing to do great things. We hope to keep the Scorum platform working as good as it is now by discouraging those who are only here to self benefit by means of plagiarism, multi-account use, and garbage posting. Through the I am Scorum Community, we are working hard to keep distractions from becoming an issue.

Who is running the witness?

What we are about

The I am Scorum Community was created in hopes of stopping people from joining and taking advantage of the system and to keep corruption away from a blossoming community. We want to keep all members who are working hard the honest way from dealing with those who steal work or spend little to no time putting effort into their posts. The I am Scorum Community is also a place for any member, new or not, to come in, engage with fellow community members, and have a chance to get to know one another. It's important to interact, help one another, and give positive advice. Up until now, the I am Scorum Community has successfully helped to stop over 30 abusers from trying to take advantage of the platform. We hope this will discourage any future similar behavior from occurring. If it does continue, we will be ready. We have also had @sports-frei join the I am Scorum Community bringing with him his awesome initiative of Scorum Patronage. It's another great way of helping those who are starting out or trying to get their posts seen the attention they deserve. It's a way we are trying to give back to those who put the work in.

What we hope to achieve

Running the @rougebot witness is not for any individual benefit. We are running this witness as part of the I am Scorum Community to help benefit everyone and we plan to keep it that way. Rewards will be used in numerous ways to help uplift the community. Going forward, we are going to be helping Scorum Patronage expand in order to bring in more users and help those trying to succeed here. Spreading that sort of positivity will help more members looking to get their work recognized by a larger audience. A part of the rewards will also be used to help keep the Scorum platform clean of plagiarism and garbage posting. In relation to that, we will be increasng the reward of the I am Scorum Community bounty reward program to encourage members who witness abuse to report it so it can be taken care of further. We hope this will keep Scorum progressing forward with as few headaches as possible. I was happy to come here to a community filled with hard working people and I hope we can keep it that way.
