Last week, I mentioned that one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to “be a better, louder Scorum representative,” and I teased that I would be joining a witness group here on Scorum. I’m proud to announce that I am part of the Team Good witness. After being live for a week, thanks to the technical support of @Sapphic and the vote support of many of you, we have reached the top-20 witnesses and have missed zero blocks out of over 10,000.

While I know next to nothing about the technical side of being a witness, I really look forward to working with this team (that does have a lot of technical know-how) to bring consistency and strength to Scorum.

Our Mission

We believe that Scorum has the potential to not only change the sports media industry, but the lives of everyone involved in Scorum. We all have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility, which is why witnesses play an important role in forming the foundation of what will be built upon, both in terms of tech support and guidance from top users, many of which who are witnesses. We are invested in Scorum’s success and your success as a user here on Scorum, and we will take the necessary steps to see that happen.

Why I Joined

I joined because I met a great group of people who I believe have Scorum’s best interests at heart. They all have experience from other platforms, including Steemit, and understand the right way to run a witness and help establish and grow a community. I believe this group will help me have a bigger and more positive impact on the community.

What This Means for Scorum

Witnesses are an important part of the Scorum ecosystem. They assist in processing transactions and represent the entire community. They have influence over decisions and on the community. Every good witness strengthens the platform and reduces the risk of bad actors taking control of the platform.

How to Vote if Interested

There are two tools you can use to vote for witnesses until the team eventually creates an internal way of voting. Each user gets 30 votes.

I recommend using @GuilyParties’ tool that does not save private keys. It’s available at guiltyparties.com/scorum.
