Yesterday I learned about this amazing new community, so today, I'd like to officially introduce myself. My name is Michael Luchies, and I own a small content marketing business. I write for small businesses and entrepreneurs in various ways, from creating blog posts to writing copy for their website.

I live in Normal, Illinois, which is about two hours south of Chicago. I'm originally from Kalamzoo, Michigan, which means I'm a passionate and long-suffering Detroit Lions fan. I also root for the other Detroit-based teams, including the Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, and Michigan State Spartans.

A Little More About Me

I'm a husband and a father or two boys, and I'm a die hard sports fan, poker player, and fantasy sports enthusiast. I graduated from Bradley University with a degree in entrepreneurship.

Much of my past has been molded by writing and sports, so finding a place like Scorum, where I'm able to combine the two, is a perfect fit. In 2007, I started my first business. It was called Stubs4Sale and it was a sports collectible business. I bought and sold tickets from historic sporting events, from World Series games to Super Bowls. Since I didn't have a marketing budget and I needed to find creative ways to reach the people I would later sell to, I began to write articles online. Months later I was selling thousands of dollars of ticket stubs, published in a leading collectible publication, and was asked to speak at the National Ticket Summit in Las Vegas.

I used my earnings to attend every sporting event I possibly could. I went to MLB playoff games, NFL games, NCAA Final Fours, and more. While I should've saved some of this money, I gained many amazing experiences and wouldn't trade them for anything.

The success I had with writing opened me up to the idea of becoming a writer. When I was in need of a job while going back to school to get my degree, I found several freelance writing websites. I was soon writing articles for tiny sums from $2-3, but being paid to write about sports was still an honor and something I enjoyed. As I built up my writing resume, I wrote articles on Yahoo! Sports, and several other high-profile platforms.

I eventually changed my main focus when writing from sports to business because I fell in love with startups and the world of small business. Even while in school and while writing for businesses, sports was a big part of my life. I played poker, both online and in-person at a local casino, which helped me pay tuition, and I also played fantasy sports.

I don't attend or watch as much sports as I used to, but I still follow my teams, and when I can, write about sports. I was a contributor for NumberFire, a fantasy sports analytics company, and several other lesser known websites over the past couple of years.

I have two very odd and insignificant claims to fame: 1. I own the domain name RogerGoodell.com (the Commissioner of the NFL), and 2. I created the LOF (Luchies Olympic Formula).

I think that's all you could possibly want to know about me at this point when it comes to my history, but feel free to ask questions below.

I also want to learn about you! Please comment below to introduce yourself. I'd love to follow you here on Scorum and check out your work.

Why I'm Here on Scorum

I'm here on Scorum to write, read, and connect with people who love sports and cryptocurrency. I plan on building up my account and becoming a valuable part of this community. I don't give up on things easily, so I have every intention on being here for the long run through the ups and downs.

The opportunity to earn cryptocurrency and grow a small portfolio along with the Scorum community is a huge bonus that I look forward to and I won't take for granted.

Why are you here? Let me know in the comment section below!

What Led Me Here

Since late December of 2017, I've been a member of Steemit. When I stumbled on a platform that paid writers with cryptocurrency, I was instantly intrigued. While earning on Steemit is difficult, I've been able to become a member of several communities there, including the Steem Poker League (Lucksacks.com), Steem Betting Community, Build A Whale Community, and more. In interested in connecting with me on Steemit, I'm @MichaelLuchies

While on a Discord channel (yesterday) discussing the World Cup, I saw a post about Scorum. I was surprised and disappointed that I had not heard of this great place until now. A few minutes later I had signed up and was working on my first post.

Why and Who Should Follow Me on Scorum

Do you love sports and all that comes with it? Do you love random thoughts, crazy predictions, and insight on topics from fantasy sports to poker to NFL football? Or do you just want to meet new people on Scorum?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, I would like to invite you to follow me. Heck, even if you answered no, I would be truly honored if you chose to follow me here and I'll work my best to repay you with a follow, upvotes, and great conversation as we help grow the Scorum Community.

If you've gotten this far, you are amazing. Thank you for investing a few of your minutes in reading something I've wrote. Please tell me about yourself!
