It's been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. To me, a sports collectible is much more valuable than a picture. A collectible tells a story. Whether it's a fan giveaway I received for going to a game or an autographed baseball bat, there is a story behind and a memory attached to each item I keep in my collection.

Today I decided to share my collection with you, and ask you to share your collection with the Scorum community.

My collection is not what it used to be. While attending a private college as a student in 2008-2011 trying to make ends meet, I sold the majority of my collection. I kept part of it while adding to my collection over the past few years.

Here is every piece of sports memorabilia I could find in my house:

A Closer Look at My Collection

Included in my collection are several baseball bats. The bat at the top is a Cooperstown Ty Cobb bat (replica). The next is a gift from my brother -- a signed Chris Shelton baseball bat. He is not a popular player, but my favorite Detroit Tiger for years. The next is a plastic bat we received at the first game I took my oldest son to in Texas. The last was also a gift for my brother -- it's a limited edition bat from the 2006 Detroit Tigers season (1 of 2006).
Seen here is a Nolan Ryan signed baseball, a Jose Lima signed baseball, two signed Jason Williams hockey picks, a sheet of Detroit Lions season tickets, lanyards from several games, and pins from the two Final Fours I've attended.
I plan on hanging many of these autographs on my walls over the next few years. This part of my collection includes an original photograph from the Detroit Free Press of the Lions mascot (far left), a Mark Aguirre autograph I obtained in person, a Wayne Fontes autograph, and more.

My favorite piece is the Chris Shelton signed baseball bat. The bat is not valuable, but it means something to me because of my memories going to Detroit Tigers games from 2006 - 2009 when they had several great years.

In second place would be my two Kentucky Derby drink glasses, which my wife and I purchased at the 2011 Kentucky Derby. The experience was incredible, and these glasses remind me of that experience every time I see them.

I showed you mine, now you show me yours. The first five people who publish a post with a picture of their sports collectible collection will get a full upvote from me (it's not worth a ton, but I'm working on it thanks to your support).
