I am very proud to announce that I will be playing live poker in the Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) at Ameristar East Chicago next month. This will be my first live poker tournament in eight years after playing primarily online on various sites and in online leagues, and I look forward to the challenge.

The HPT has multiple stops each year along their tour, and when they visit Chicago next month, I will travel up from Bloomington-Normal Illinois to play in event #3. The third event is a $200-buy-in 7-Game Mix. It will be both challenging and fun to play in as a player who enjoys other games outside of Texas Hold'em. The tournament will include limit hold'em, omaha hi-low (my favorite game), razz, 7-card stud, stud hi-low, no-limit hold'em and pot-limit omaha.

The event will take place on Sunday, August 26 at 4 PM. It's likely to be a relatively small tournament, but I will be playing like this is my chance to win the World Series of Poker Main Event. If I perform well, I will likely schedule several additional tournaments to play in over the next few months.

Representing Scorum

As a part of the Scorum community, I want to do whatever I can to spread the word about this new community that is empowering people to enjoy their love of sports while getting rewarded for it. I am in the process of ordering a Scorum t-shirt, hopefully with @mikey on the back, to wear during the tournament. Maybe I should bring something else along with me too, any ideas?

There won't be television cameras or media covering the event, but I assume if I continue to survive in the tournament, I will get questions about Scorum, and I'll be happy to explain what it is and why I love it.

I will also plan on taking pictures and notes, and sharing my experience with you all. Whether I'm first to be knocked out or I win the whole thing, I'll be having fun while representing Scorum as a fan and member of this great place.

I'll keep you all updated as the event gets closer. Wish me luck!
