It's a wonderful Sunday in which we'll learn who will play in Super Bowl 53. However, I want to quickly discuss something more Scorum than sports related because I think it's important that we understand what's going on behind the scenes (and right in front of our faces).

Here on Scorum, everyone's experience is different. What I have experienced and seen is probably much different than what you have. This is both good and bad. Good because every user has an opportunity to create their own unique path towards success, and bad because our tendencies and actions can cause us to have blind spots. These blind spots cause us to miss things. Something that you may be well aware of I could have no idea about due to it being in a blind spot I have.

In the comment section of my recent call for questions to CEO Vlad (please ask a question!), I realized that there may be others here on Scorum that are unaware of something that was introduced well over a month ago -- liquid SCR payouts for post rewards. Thanks to @tosyne2much for his question.

As I explained in one of the questions I plan to ask Vlad, yes, if you were not yet aware of them, liquid SCR payouts are active here on Scorum. They are not on hold, and Vlad and the Scorum team delivered as they said they would with liquid SCR payouts.

With every post payout received, I'm given a small amount of liquid SCR along with the traditional Scorum Power payment. This begn approximately a month a go but I do not have an exact date. As you can see above, after I received my last post payout ($179.52), I received the circled 0.077 liquid SCR. This amount of SCR represents only around 0.043% of my total payment. This is small, but due to the amount of SCR earned and paid through the advertising system, which is the mechanism that currently allows us to receive liquid SCR.

The more that is earned through advertising, the higher the percentage of liquid SCR/SP you and I can receive through blogging. This is at least my interpretation but I am no expert. The percentage will likely never reach 50%/50% or even 25%/75%, but if/as ad revenue increases, so will the amount of liquid SCR we all receive.

What Does This Mean for You?

This means that the overall system is working and the team has kept their promise. It means that users earning a lot of Scorum Power will earn a small amount of SCR that they can use for whatever they choose (I will bet it on betscorum.com). It also means that we need to better support the ad network and revenue generating activities of the Scorum team if we want larger liquid rewards.

Scorum tokens do not grow on trees. This is not a token that magically creates additional tokens that are then given to the community like another blockchain-based blogging platform most of us are aware of. There is a fixed pool of tokens that requires advertising and revenue generating activities in order to collect and pay out SCR. As much as I value sports blogging and as important it is for the growth of Scorum, we need other aspects of this wonderful community to grow and succeed as well, and that will take the support and investment of others who join and grow alongside us.

What do you think about all this? Have you received any payouts in SCR?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Please comment below to keep the conversation going!
