I take pride in my standing here on Scorum and want to protect every coin I've earned. I believe in the future of our community and believe that the coins you and I have earned will be significantly more valuable in the future than they are today (not financial advice). I don't want to lose a single Scorum Power, but I'm willing to lose some if it could help the platform.

I'm powering down 12,000 in Scorum Power to show my support for the Scorum betting platform (betscorum.com). Over the next 12 months, assuming nothing significant changes in my life, I plan to bet a bare minimum of 12,000 SCR. While my lone effort won't make Scorum Bet a success, the platform needs consistent volume in order to attract bettors and grow. If other users follow, we will have a wide range of bets being created and filled and first-time bettors will come back for more.

The 12,000 coins will come in installments of around 230 SCR each week for the next year. I'm still finalizing my plan, which I will share with you shortly and I'll ask for feedback. I intend to employ a somewhat disciplined approach to bet responsibly so I can help support Scorum Bet without losing thousands of coins. I plan on reinvesting winnings back into Scorum Power.

What This Means for You

I am not asking you to power down to bet. What you do with your coins is 100% up to you. What I think we all should be doing is asking ourselves what we can do to help Scorum succeed. Asking this question led me to make this decision and several others.

I will temporarily lose Scorum Power, and I'll likely lose some SCR on bets overall, but the success of the betting platform is more important to our success here on Scorum than a few hundred or even a few thousand Scorum coins, at least in my opinion.
