Thanks to everyone who has joined Scorum so far and worked hard to make the Scorum Blog an entertaining and insightful place to follow the World Cup action. The designer and development team at Scorum HQ has been hard at work since the launch to refine and improve the experience for new users.

Today the first batch of updates has been done according to what we’ve had planned along with the valuable input from the early user community. This is the first but certainly not the last – here’s a few changes you can see around the site.

For New Users

Registration

The registration flow for new user sign-up has been totally revamped and streamlined so that people can quickly and easily move from reader to active user on the Scorum Blog. Once registered, new members will be guided through the Blog experience by coach marks that quickly explain core features of the blog.

Hints

Ready to jump straight in and write? New content creators on Scorum will see hints when creating their first post to get familiar with the editorial suite and enable them to create great content straight away.

For Everyone

Established writers here have been instrumental in the growth and improvement of Scorum in the first few weeks, and to them we’ll be forever grateful. From the main page to comment tools to your profile, you’ll see new and improved features.

Notifications

To start at the landing page, you will see a notifications dropdown menu in the top right to let you know when someone upvotes, replies to or flags your post or comment.

Profile

When you read a new article, you can also hover over the writer’s name to see a snippet from their Bio (Pro tip: make your Bio stand out).

Drafts

Speaking of posts, you can now create and save drafts to finish and publish at a later time. Also the comments section has been updated to include clickable links and more text structure options.

In the Pipeline

The team is already plotting and designing the next round of updates to further improve the look, navigation and feel of Scorum. Scorum Power to Scorum Coins conversion, a news feed and suggested posts sections are all on the near horizon.
