This is one of the rare question you will find when a group of people are discussing about sport.
I can remember back then when I was very young how elderly people and I will be discussing about sport. A man said and I quote “one out of many things that unites the world is sport”.
Least I forget about introducing myself, I am a newbies here and have been on scorum since past two week just commenting on post that I found interesting and educative. Some of the author that I have checked their post are @bethalae @mikey @victars @virus772 @thebull and the rest that have make this platform scorum (the sport media platform with block chain technology)interesting to me which I gladly follow.
My name is Peter. Am a sophisticated person, light in complexion, introvert, an activist, a passionate writer and lover of all genes of sports.
My love for reading, group discussion and sport drive me to join this platform. I learnt about this social platform through a friend @tossyne @zoneboy on steemit and scorum Nigeria WhatsApp group and the discord channel.
A lot of thing runs through my mind when I firstly heard about the platform scorum been a sport blog, it make me to remember how I developed passion for sport some years back. When we’re very young our Grand pa usually talk about how he was unable to make it to been a member of Nigeria football team even at state level.
The question is ‘His he not good enough? The answer is NO’. Then why was he disqualify. He said it was because of his tribal mark. Been a novice young lad I was curious to know whether what he was saying is true and this driven me to the world of football sport. I found it very interesting and as I grew older I start to follow other sport too.
Let talk about my Nigeria football king AUGUSTINE AZUKA OKOCHA “jay-jay okocha”
I start to watch football in the year 2002 and the performance of a young agile Nigeria amazed me in friendly match against Paraguay. I was forced to see more of his performance and that’s how I found myself locked up in the world of sport and I was able to find answer to my grandfather story.
He won the Nigeria footballer of the year in 2002,2003,2004,2005.
He won premier league player of the month in 2003
He won golden boot and best player of the year in African cup of nations in 2004
He won Bolton wanderers footballer of the year in 2005
In 2007 jay-jay was voted number 12 on greatest African footballers.
He is one of the greatest Nigeria footballer that I will never forget their history.
Mind you football, boxing and poker is still my favorites sport even though am not good when it comes to poker but I love to see that confused face called poker face on the face of the gamer.
This is another topic on his own for another day.
