Captured at Burgas Beach today!

Today we talk a bit about beach sport in general and an interesting find. Someone has written SCR on my beach in Burgas and further down you can listen to a young lady trying to speak English, seems she also talks about Scorum - the platform is spreading indeed widely these days.

Interview: A girl loves Scorum?

What Sport can be done on the beaches of the world?

Beach sports are in general variants of already known sports, which are usually carried out with changed rules on the beach, or sand. These variants are often used to create a more interesting discipline for spectators, media and sponsoring brands. Hence some became official competitive sports, such as Beach Volleyball.

Well all of us probably played Beach Volleyball to get in some exercise without overheating yourself in the in the hot sun, all of us sure have played Beach Soccer but what do I prefer? I am lazy and old, fat so I reduce my activity towards swimming (or better bathing) and some fitness workout during my stay here. My knee and feet are not able to do all the fun Beach Ball stuff - I also struggle to do some Beach Running but today I am happy with myself after 60 minutes of workout. What else can I still do? Not a lot - I found though an interesting sport I never heard of before called Beach Flags.

Beach Flags?

Beach Flags is usually done by Surf lifesavers to practice beach sprinting and reflexes. Why flags? The players use flags and stick them into the sand in rows. All competitors lay around 20 metres aways and have to jump start after a peep and grab these flags. Usually there is one flag less in numbers as there are competitors, so the one that is not able to grab a flag is out of the game and so on. The set-up can be compared to musical chairs.
