When you talk about bid bots, some people see it as a blessing but I don't. Some people say it has its own advantages but I don't really buy that idea.
The essence of bit bots is to boost your post to have a wider audience. Aside giving your post a wider audience, it doesn't really return any profit to the user who bid but what it does is return commission to the bid bot owners and enrich their pockets. I don't think there's any other intention for someone to build a bit bot if it not for making profit.
The Scorum platform is still very new and everyone seems to be enjoying it. It's still going through birth pangs and we feel like things will continue to be like this but the sad truth is that there will come a time when it will go through troubles of abuse. For today, let's limit the abuse to bid bots
When you look at the tending page of a platform like steemit, you will discover that most of the posts on the tending page were pushed there with the help of bid bots. When you check the content, most of them are hogwash while your own good content is still there struggling with $0.50. Anybody can just write crap and then promote it with bid bots and it will find its way to the tending page.
Well, left for me, I think bid bots will kill the opportunities of getting natural upvotes and it will mess the platform up. Even with some healthy upvotes from the whales, your post may not smell the trending page because bit bot users would be the ones dominating the trending page.
The biggest problem everyone is going to be having with bid bots is that they will be seeing auto upvotes, spamming and unsolicited comments on their posts, which can be very annoying. In just a matter of time, organic curation will disappear and greed will take over. Anybody can just buy SP, delegate it to a bot and start making money from both good and bad content. Shitposters who receive bot upvotes will be doing nothing good to the platform but raping the pool.
My person opinion is that, even if bots will be allowed, it should be bots that will flag plagiarized posts, delete unsolicited comments and ban spammers, but as for bid bots,I don't think we need it here
A lot of people are on Scorum. because they feel it's a platform where natural upvotes flow and we shouldn't disappoint them. There's nothing as encouraging as seeing good bucks on a post if the content is good. It brings people here and it helps people understand the platform, or a myriad of other good reasons
I drop my pen at this juncture.😎
