I guess there is no better platform for a writer who is in love with sports and crypto than Scorum. That is why I am here! Some of you might know me from Steemit as I go by the same name, Writingamigo and I have been actively involved with SteemSports since the end of 2016. So, without further ado, let me tell you what you can expect from me in here.

I happen to travel around the world as well

Betting

Could I possibly call myself a gambling addict? Well, only when I lose. When I win, I am an expert and pundit. That's how the system goes. This World Cup, for example, I predicted that semi-finals would be France-Belgium and Germany-Croatia, so I guess I am 75% pro and 25% gambler.

Jokes aside, I've spent good 5 years of my life actively betting and that is quite a lot since I can only legally do it for the last 6 years. My experience so far? I feel and see my emotions better than Sabonis used to see the court (yeah, I am Lithuanian so basketball is my prime sport). I also know that it is easy to lose yourself while betting and let's be honest, we all been here - one moment you are killing it and next thing you realize that you've lost everything while betting on a women's beach volleyball match in the second Nicaraguan league. And yes, accepting weaknesses is the first step to improvement.

And everyone who has anything to do with sports betting should realize that bookies take just a little too much from every bet, making it extremely hard to be profitable in the long run. I have a finance degree and scored maximum on a national maths exam so I can do the math - if you play by the rules, you lose. However, bookies don't have a perfect system, especially when it comes to live betting. Obviously, those breaches in the system are like a water stream in the Sahara Desert. I'll be writing about those breaches from time to time. If you are someone who thought that my tips will be as good as saying "always bet on black and keep doubling your bets until you win," I like you a lot. However, this time I do really know some neat tricks which can bring you money if you can precisely execute and follow strict rules.

I will also give some betting tips. My field of expertise is tennis, basketball, and football (some may call it soccer, but deep down we all know that it is football). There are always a few gems hidden in the stack of trash and I am willing to stick my nose in that trash. However, as time goes by and I find better ways to make money, including crypto trading and writing, I try to bet less and less. Also, I always advise people not to gamble unless they know their stuff well because, in the end, only a few can defeat the bookies.

Basketball

I am from Lithuania so basketball is my second religion and there is no cure for that. I suppose most of the people in here only interested in NBA, but believe me, European basketball can be just as sexy. I'll make sure to prove it to you. As for playing basketball, I do it from time to time, but I suck. Well, I suck in Lithuania. However, when I went to China and balled with some random dudes in the center court of a big city, I realized that I am a decent player after all. Anyway, if you are interested in learning a little bit more about the basketball culture in Lithuania and its impact on the country, you might want to stick around.

Also, am I the only one who will be rooting for anyone to win NBA rather than GSW? Yup, I cannot stand when extreme favorites win tournaments because it is way more fun to see underdogs lifting the trophy. I guess that is why I am a fan of FC Liverpool in football...

Football

Football is coming home... Oh, wait, it's too late.

It is a real disaster to be a football fan when you are from Lithuania. Not only the Lithuanian national football team has zero chance to ever qualify for the final stage of WC or EC, but also, the whole football system is rotten and corrupted. Lithuania is at such a disastrous level that we actually celebrate drawing against Slovenia or other similar countries which, with all due respect, suck as well. On the club level... well, it's even worse. The best stadium we have in Lithuania is no better than a potato field and our clubs usually end their European journey before the summer ends. By saying usually I mean always.

That is why I had to pick other teams to support and FC Liverpool grabbed my attention. Yes, I am quite a happy man these days after 10 years of drought. Oh, wait, that drought still continues. Well, at least there is hope these days.

Kickboxing

The real beauty of the sport is that everyone can do it

My friends, if you love sports, you have to do sports as well. And I have found my love for kickboxing. I am not a professional by any means because I prefer to have my brains fully functioning, but I did some fights. I'll try my best to let everyone know how peaceful and beneficial kickboxing and any other martial art might be, especially if we are talking about an amateur level. I get way fewer injuries when my friends in basketball, football or any other contact team sport. Also, every decent coach is against hooliganism in the streets and showin-off. The first rule is to respect your opponent and the sport itself. Yes, martial arts has nothing to do with aggression and in fact, the stronger you get, the more you try to avoid any fights and conflicts. I am pretty sure that my grandma is not going to join Scorum just yet, but I'll still try to write about those stupid stereotypes.

Sports psychology

Talking about games, winners, losers, and scores is fun and important. However, sometimes the psychology behind it all excites me the most. I am a writer, so it is natural for me to think a little deeper and look for connections and reasons behind every single action. And sport is a wonderful phenomenon to observe humans' behavior and psychology. I keep trying to understand why hooligans and ultras fight during the games, why people root for underdogs, why do unlucky ones gamble away their lives, why and why does the world forget everything just to watch the World Cup. It fascinates me, and I'll make sure to share my ideas with you guys. So hello and nice to meet you, Scorum!
