Scorum Coin - Why did I invest and why am I still holding on (my contribution to the Scorum writing contest)
I have been away from this site for quite a while, minding my business at some other places. But a few days ago I somehow had the urge to come over and to have a look at what is going on here. Well, to be quite frankly, not too much, what didn't surprise me too much. But I was pleasantly surprised when I some the last announcement of the Scorum team, in which they are telling us, that they are finally hosting some new writing contest here on Scorum.com. The topic is writing about your experience purchasing coins, and why you bought that coin or token and some future outlook for that asset. I wasn't really sure whether I want to join, and I haven't seen anyone else's post to this contest. Maybe the latter one was the reason why I am now sitting here with my laptop and thinking about what I can contribute to this topic. Well, to be honest, when it comes to purchasing cryptocurrency, then I haven't been that lucky and successful as I wished for. I started to become interesting in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology at the end of 2017, just before the market went really crazy and Bitcoin peak at 20,000 $. Unfortunately that hype didn't last long and the whole market crushed and left most of my investment shattered and in ruins. 2018 was rather a valley of tears, but I held on and kept most of the coins which I had acquired so far. That was also the time when I discovered Scorum, and in the beginning I was very hooked by the idea of having a sport-blogging platform where you can earn some cryptocurrency for sharing your own content. Since I didn't want to start completely from scratch I decided to to buy some Scorum coins to bring me at least above the pro-level line. At this time, it was in the second half of 2018, the Scorum ICO was just over and there quite some people around who were eagerly hoping that their newly purchased coin would take off and go sky-high beyond the moon. The coin price of the Scorum coin (SCR) was somewhat around 0.25 $ and was already lower than the price it was sold at the end of the ICO. This and the fact, that the whole market value of SCR was rather low and that the whole coin supply was limited to 24 million coins, made the whole thing a quite interesting idea for me. At this time, the forecast for SCR seemed to be rather positive and there were many voices here on Scorum.com who were sharing into this enthusiasm. Since it was still a very new coin, there wasn't much coin review available and the investment was pretty speculative. But sometimes you have to dare to win, and that's why I decided to use the internal market places to buy my first Scorum coins. The whole procedure worked very smoothly and I soon had the coins in my internal Scorum wallet. Since I wanted to use them for the blogging platform and for upvoting other people's articles I converted them into Scorum Power, which then earned me the status of a “pro”-member. Soon after, the coin price started to fall and I used the chance to purchase some more SCR trough the internal market place before opening an account at Hotbit, a crypto exchange that unfortunately ceased operations last year and has since closed. But at that moment, Hotbit was the hottest place for buying Scorum coins, and I was there to get my share as well. The coin price has meanwhile fallen even lower and was in the single cent range. Even though the whole market was trending downwards, but for me that seemed like a great opportunity to get some more SCR which after purchasing I soon sent to my Scorum wallet. As I wrote in the beginning, I am not really the one with the lucky hands when it comes to crypto investments, and the coin price continued to fall even lower. Actually there weren't too many coins to buy, but here and then someone with weak hands decided to sell their coins for a rather ridiculous low price. However, now I wasn't too sure anymore, whether I should throw more money into the game, as my initial investment had already lost most of its value. But since I enjoyed being active at the blogging site I could also earn some more SCR just by writing and upvoting, I could at least recover some of my losses just by being active here. So I took another chance to get some SCR for less than 1 Cent, which I at this point kept in my Hotbit wallet. But to all our regret Hotbit started to experience quite some trouble and became rather unreliable. Eventually they announced to delist SCR from their exchange and that was when I transferred the last patch into my Scorum wallet. Soon after Hotbit went out of business and I had quite some SCR in my internal wallet but no real use for it anymore. Many users had already left the blogging site and there wasn't much going on anymore. Me too, I kinda lost interest in writing there myself but fortunately not the hope, that SCR will eventually recover and that the Scorum team will find a way to make this coin a success. And now we are here at the end of the year 2024 and I am still holding quite some Scorum coins. Like the years before I am holding on to my investment, to the money and the time I spend, and wonder whether my patience will someday pay off. source The Scorum team meanwhile came up with some new ideas and has developed and successfully launched Aviatrix, an I-game which offers an exciting NFT-gaming experience. There are quite some positive and encouraging news about this game, and just now Aviatrix has partnered with BetComply, an gaming compliance firm as it seeks assistance with its regulatory expansion in many European markets. The game is closely connected to SCR which itself has move on this year as well. Now Scorum coin is integrated into the Cosmos network and became part of a whole ecosystem of other blockchains which smoothly work together. In the Cosmos network Scorum coin holders are now able to create some wallets like Kepler or Leap, where they can send their coins to. The Scorum team has developed a bridge which helps coin holders to transfer their assets and finally trade SCR with other crypto coins and tokens. The financial outlook has become brighter as well. The maximum coin supply is now limited to 30 million coins and the whole market cap is still below 500K $. The whole coin is a real bargain and since I am here for the long run I will continue to hold onto what I have. For the next year we can expect the launch of the new blogging site, which should also be integrated into the Cosmos universe and which will hopefully some more attention to this truly undervalued coin. from Osmosis At the moment, the coin price is around 0,015 $, after reaching over 0,20 $ during this year. So finally there seems to be at least some life back into SCR after quite some time of hibernating. What we now need is some big news concerning Scorum which brings the name of the place and its cryptocurrency to a bigger audience. The whole crypto market is at an uproar right now and it would be regrettable if SCR misses this chance to finally move to some higher level. I know any future price prediction is like looking into the wizards glass ball, but taking in the place the low market cap and the limited coin supply, eventually reaching 1 $ shouldn't be impossible. And considering the move and development of other low-cap coins, there is even a reasonable chance to go much beyond that level. But of course, we are talking about a cryptocurrency investment, which are all still speculative and there is also the risk to lose everything we invested. Scorum still needs to prove it can be a real winner and a star at the crypto-sky, but yes...I am ready to witness this kind of success story.
