A Few Fixes... To Save Scorum's Future!
The first issue of notice is something the likes of user @costanza has brought up numerous times.. Scorum has to lose these outlandish earnings on posts! These $300 earnings on our articles are not worth a fraction of a fraction of that... so if there can be an adjustment which shows actual earnings ($3 - $6) people would actually consider writing a viable off time hobby. People float away from things that 'seem too good to be true', and I get asked by people constantly if I am 'really earning hundreds of dollars' on my articles.. In telling them no it just becomes embarrassing and hard to recover in bringing them to the platform. Please, this can be the easiest fix in the world. Instead of basing the earnings off SCR to the dollar, make it vice versa.. simply transpose the amounts so the earnings shown are '$1 USD to SCR'. In seeing real value with the articles more people will come and be eager to write more and more posts to earn. Also! What is up with the lack of promotion? use @dwin0603 recommended a platform to me and the steemsports guys earlier today called 'Belacam'. [Image Source] It's basically an Instagram type platform in which users earn their custom token for their pictures and involvement. They have over 150,000 users yet their token is only worth around .027 cents. At first I was a bit disgruntled that they have over 5 times our userbase, and user @thesportsguru recommended that the Scorum team invest in some AM radio advertising (which would be brilliant, especially for people who catch a lot of sports events through radio stream). That kind of access would change the face of our user base completely. ...but back to my point; I actually became somewhat hopeful in seeing Belacam's numbers since they launched well before Scorum (in 2017) and didn't have to deal with the dreary bear market immediately post-launch. I believe that we can achieve 100,000 users if we make slight adjustments: a single sport added to BetScorum, changing the amounts earned on articles to reflect real time earnings (in USD), and investing in more promotion across US radio or at least investing in Steemit's new banner ad system and gaining a bit of their population. There are tons of ideas and a lot of time in this quarter still left... let's get this train moving!
