Scorum.africa Abandoned.
Four months ago Scorum launch 11 new domains to aid promote local sport and also increase local coverage with the help of this different domains To my greatest surprise other domains seems to be accelerating at a higher velocity leaving Africa scorum.africa to sink in the mud. Our domain is abandoned, yes totally rejected by its very own. The last time the domin was active in any category but not for @emekasegun 4 days ago. Many of those categories are totally empty with no single article. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""WHY SO? 1* High Internet Cost Over here in Africa getting access to the internet is financially demanding as internet service providers are so insincere when it comes to how much you pay for a particular data. Since the internet plan over here is "pay as you use" and it's time bound (daily, weekly or monthly). With this internet fees is high for an average African. 2* Full Time Jobs From my little experience I believe 80% of Africans in this ecosystem have a steady source of income to be able to survive here taking my first point into consideration. Most jobs over here is full time meaning you can only be free when you are done for the day. For example before I left for youth service I had an employment in a pharmacy working from 8am still 10pm i.e 14 good hours which means I have to sacrifice my sleeping hours to be able to fix a post. I believe same may be applies to some other African users 3* Few writers and low rewards I must say we have very few writers that are willing to login to the Africa domain due to the low reward for their post. Everyone needs a good reward for their articles and also a good audience can be a huge encouragement. 4* Multi Languages Africa is one Continent with a good number of languages and to a very large extent I believe this is a point to worry about. For a example I'm an Akwaibomite and we speak "Ibibio" over here which is not among the most known languages in Nigeria like Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo and I got to meet only 2 other users from my State I.e @idunique and @lordjames which gives me a <1% of the audience. So with this I know others may be facing similar challenges. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""”"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Which Domain Wears Our Boot Size? German Scorum domain is really struggling but the difference is that their domain has been very active but is dominated by only one active user @sport-frei It looks so funny when one person's post appears on both the hot and trending sections. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""”"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Scorum Bounty Program is For You. The Scorum bounty program is another great opportunity for every member of this community because you get rewarded for translating content from one language to the other. This bounty program also reward you for being an active community member that also helps in recruiting new users. So let try and digest this opportunity at this early stage as we are we hope to grow better and stronger by each passing day. Bounty rewards Translators get delegated SP from Scorum Bounty Team for one week and rewards from readers upvoting. This helps the bounty community to quickly distribute both quality content and rewards to the new communities that grow within each language domain. 1-2 translated articles per week = 100 delegated SP 2-3 translated articles per week = 200 delegated SP 4 and more translated articles per week = 300 SP Moreover, such activity will be rewarded with the official ratings of translators and have a chance to win monthly reward of 50 SCR as the number 1 Translator of the month. So if you want to join just ping the community manager @rina_ra in telegram she will guide you through. Example An Italian user @girolamomarotta translated @mikey post on the interview with Scorum CEO @vlad which really got a good pay out. So let can take hold of this opportunity.
