The failed attempts to bag the top prize in her previous Asian Games appearances are fresh in her memory as shooter Heena Sidhu gears up to break the gold medal jinx in the upcoming quadrennial extravaganza.

As we all know that the 2018 Asiad will going to be organised in Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. The Asiad will start from 18 August to 02 September. "This will be an another chance to do that, also to improve my performace and my medal. In the Asian Games, I have won two bronze in team and hopefully I will do my best in this upcoming season and maybe even get the gold medal," said 28 year old Heena Sidhu.

She, however also cautioned that the medals cannot be considered as they were guaranteed even if a sportsperson's performance is in good form on earlier displays.

"I cannot guarantee a medal. Medals are subjective and it's a comparative sort of thing which comes at the end of a good performance. That's what I am trying to do, put up a good performance and improve my score," said the two-time Commonwealth Games gold medal winner.

After this 2018 Asiad ,Heena will be seen at the World Championship in Korea to take part in 25m event and in mixed events. We expect that preparation for these upcoming games is going well and also we are preparing even for bigger competition "the World Championship".

I will be participating in all three events in the World Championships 10m and 25 m individual and 10m mixed - and 10m air pistol in the Asian Games. Both are important for me. It's been a long time we have been practising," said Heena, who is married to shooter-turned-coach Ronak Pandit.
