Neverending Story - Ski superstar Lindsey Vonn misses the races in her home country after a fall in training.

Vonn suffered a knee injury in a crash in Super-G training at Copper Mountain in the US state of Colorado. At least she does not need a surgery but she will miss the start of her farewell season at the end of November/beginning of December with two downhill runs and a Super-G in her "living room" Lake Louise.

Record hunt by Vonn in danger

Vonn had one final huge career goal which is to beat the World Cup record of Ingemar Stenmark (Sweden/86 victories) with five more victories this season but with this injury not "an easy road" especially missing the races on her favourite stop on the World Cup Tour.

Comeback planned in Switzerland

If all works as planned she will race again on 8 December in St. Moritz. I am pretty sure she will break the record as she has not missed any of her career goals, didn't she?

She will say goodbye with a big bang, and even she missed the record this season there is still the possibility that she would have to add another year in case she missed Stenmark's record. She is a monster of success, will and determination - a smart girl with an unbreakable ambition - knees back and forth.
