First-seeded Anastasija Sevastova (Latvia) stuns Petra Martic (Croatia) to win her third WTA singles title.
Martic took the lead 2-1 and even served for the first set at 5-4, but Sevastova broke her serve to make 5-5. Sevastova claimed the first set after tie-break, and then won the match in straight sets 7-6 (4), 6-2.
For the second consecutive year, the BRD Bucharest Open doubles trophy remains in Bucharest.
Andreea Mitu won her first WTA title after the birth of her son, in January. She partnered compatriot Irina Begu (2017 singles and doubles winner) and the romanian team goes all the way to the trophy, defeating Danka Kovinic and Maryna Zanevska in the final, 6-3, 6-4.
