Boris Beker, interviewed by the Spanish newspaper El Pais, talks about how tennis was in its time and how it is today. The former world number one, in career, won six Grand Slam tournaments.

For the German tennis today does not differ much from that of his best years. In the eighties and nineties, great champions were not lacking, as they also abound today. A slight difference lies in the fact that today's top players have further raised the level, which has reduced the number of players able to win the tournaments that count.

So in today's tennis there is less space for surprises and for second-level players, when the going gets tough, the strongest do not let the crumbs to the others.

In fact, in the last fifteen years only a few players have been able to raise the trophies that count in the sky.

From a technical point of view for the former German champion, tennis in his day was more of an attack, more was sought the descent to the network, while today we prefer to play from the baseline.

US Open Djokovic is back

The Serbian Djokovic defeated the Argentinean Del Potro in the final at the US Open, and now he hopes to join Nadal for the number of Slams won in his career.

The classification reads:

Roger Federer - 20
Rafael Nadal - 17
Pete Sampras - 14
Novak Djoković - 14

So does the pursuit of the Serbian in an attempt to hook one of its historic rivals, the Majorcan Rafael Nadal, in the all-time ranking?

Of course, before thinking of "King Federer", in the viewfinder there is the Spanish which is only 3 slam.

The numbers say that Djokovic is 31 years old, so still relatively young compared to Roger Federer's 37 years, who continues to play despite everything. Then of course there is Rafa Nadal, who is 32 years old, but with continuous physical consequences, which do not guarantee the Spanish a continuity in the coming years.

So the future seems to smile to Novak Djokovic, and with the victory at the US Open, the Slams won by the Serbian are now 14 equaling his childhood idol Pete Sampras and certainly a demonstration of his return to the highest level.

His opponents are warned
Djokovic is back !!
