Serena Williams got screwed. I honestly can't believe what I just saw. This was the championship match of the US OPEN. This was the championship SET of the championship match of the US OPEN and you just put a one game penalty to the most watched player in the world. It is actually insane IN THIS SITUATION.
It is the umpire's responsibility in THIS situation to keep his or her cool. It is his responsibility to NOT CONTROL the match at the end of the day no matter what happens. Sure I will take the coaching violation I guess, slamming the racket is what people do ALL THE TIME. Much less in a championship match you can't put a penalty for that. Lastly, people yell and scream and throw names at the umpires in every tennis match and you are going to slap a GAME PENALTY on her in the FINAL SET OF THE US OPEN?

Imagine this comparison and tell me this guy should NEVER umpire another championship match ever again.
NBA FINALS GAME 7 with 1:00 remaining - Lebron James' team is down 2 points and he drives to the basket for a slam however the ref calls a charge. Lebron argues and berates the ref for the disagreement on the call. Is this ref really going to call a technical foul on Lebron James in this situation?
The UMPIRE CONTROLLED the MATCH, and he should never umpire a Major again IMO.
