Tennis icon Serena Williams can no longer wear her favorite costume at the French Open after an official said she "went too far in choosing her clothes."

Williams, 36, appeared at the French championship last June in a dark, dark black dress similar to that of the "Warrior Princess" and confirmed that it helps to move better and facilitate the flow of blood in the body.

"The tournament, which Williams won three times, will apply stricter rules on clothing," the president of the French Tennis Federation, Bernard Giodicelli, was quoted by Sky News as saying.

"We are a little late for this announcement, but we will ask the manufacturers to tell us the quality of the clothes that the players and players will wear," the spokesman told France Tennis magazine.

"I think we went too far. For example, Serena's costume will not be accepted. The place and the game must be respected."

Williams has been wearing a strange fashion that has attracted the attention of fans since she returned to court after giving birth in September last year.

"I think this kind of outfit sends a powerful message to women, so that they can regain their self-confidence after birth," she said. "I feel like a warrior princess. I've always wanted to be a super hero in a fantasy world."
