I have written three articles where I have mentioned Djokovic's chances at Wimbledon already on Scorum. One article much before the tournament where I had him as my dark horse bet to go all the way, one where I outlined why Roger Federer's chances of winning Wimbledon are way too short and how Djokovic could well be the player to dethrone the king of grass (not before also taking Nadal out in a Semi Final) and finally just one the other day where I stated that whoever would win out of Edmund vs Djokovic would beat Nadal and go on to face Federer in the final.

Djokovic won that showdown with Edmund (3-1) proving he wouldn't bow down to Edmund twice in a year. In fact he used some of the crowds unwarranted negativity against him to fuel a storming 3 sets after dropping the first to Edmund. Yesterday he comfortably dispatched of a power house of an opponent - Khachanov in 3 sets. I have seen Federer several times struggle to beat Khachanov as comfortably as Djokovic did of late. Djokovic with every game that goes past becomes increasingly confident with more aggressive ground strokes and an even greater defense. He is still 4/1 to win Wimbledon so for me remains a great bet to take.

As I keep reminded everyone, on the two occasions Djokovic has met Federer in the final at Wimbledon, he has won them both. He is an excellent grass court player and does not give way to Federer's dominant style of play as easy as most other players. At the same time he has enough aggression in his own game to not only neutralise Federer's attack but to counter effectively.

I know many would love to see a Federer vs Nadal final again, but I cannot see Nadal getting past Djokovic in the Semi Final on grass. Nadal has had his time on clay this year where he has been unstoppable but he won't have his own way at Wimbledon this year.

This writer is predicting Djokovic will go all the way and claim a hatrick of victories against Federer in the final.
