I wasn't go to post anything tonight on tennis but having seen an interesting set of bets by value bet here https://scorum.com/en-us/betting/@valuebet/value-tips-1 I thought I'd chip in as he has Zverev down to win vs Federer with some new software. I'd love to see the young German claim another big victory vs Federer but seemingly out of no where the Swiss has sprung to life with some assertive displays vs Thiem and then more impressively vs Anderson where he deployed his slice backhand to great effect.
Anderson has been playing awesome tennis and on serve he has looked virtually unstoppable. Just look how he crushed Nishikori in straight sets the other night. Yet Federer managed to tame the South Africans one...two punches on serve with some precise pace absorbing low slices that drew many an error from the Anderson forehand who loves to feed on pace. Indeed even the Swiss' unforced error count has been considerably reduced and suddenly he looks a revitalised player of the past once more.
Tonight vs a Zverev somewhat out of sorts he can make it a hatrick of straight set wins in a row with a combination of aggressive approach play, clever low slices to once again vary the pace and a forehand that's looking more like his old best.
I expect Federer to win this in straight sets and possibly by a clean break per set. Watch him use his slice to frustrate Zverev into errors from the back of the court whilst also approaching the net to close down many a point on his forehand. The German is a solid hitter but tonight he will be up against it vs a Federer looking bang on the money once more.
Federer will want a straight sets win here in order to build momentum heading towards what inevitably looks like a final clash of the year will Novak Djokovic, one where he will be kean to end his year with some sweet revenge vs the enigmatic Serbian.
