It was a great evening for 22-year old russian youngster. Final against the great champion in the hall filled to the brim in the capital of France. Russia's Karen Khachanov defeated incoming world number one Novak Djokovic in straight sets in one hour and thirty minutes. That's the first triumph in masters series tournament for a tennis player from Moscov. "It's one of the biggest titles in my career . "I couldn't be happier to end the season like this, to win against one of the biggest players in history" said Khachanov.

Khachanov is the first Russian tennis player whose won a Masters 1000 title since Nikolay Davydenko in 2009, and the second one after Marat Safin who won Masters Series tournament in Paris.

Fourteen-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic was a big favorite in this game. The main question after this final is this is only suprsie or maybe sensiation? Serbian champion was expected easy win to celebrate his return to world number one in monday's ranking. However Khachanov showed this evening strongly maturity and mental resistance at crucial moments. Should also be mentioned that Djokovic today was after breathtaking three hours battle against Roger Federer in semi-final and and could not withstand the match conditionally however we're still taking about the best phisically prepered player in tour(except Nadal for someone).
