Djoković and Nadal have long waited in the locker room to start their match. Earlier, Kevin Anderson of South Africa defeated John Isner from the United States 7: 6 (8-6), 6: 7 (5-7), 6: 7 (9-11), 6: 4, 26:24. This meeting lasted over six and a half hours. Thus, Nadal and Djokovic went to the tennis court after 8pm London time.
In the first set, each tennis player won his passes for a long time. Djoković broke his rival only in the seventh gemie. As it turned out later, it was crucial because it gave the Serbian victory in the first set. Nadal was better in the second round, breaking the opponent twice.
In the third set, none of the players was able to break the rival and it was necessary to tie-break. The situation changed several times, but eventually Djoković came out to lead the whole meeting. After the last ball, the judge together with the supervisor decided to stop the meeting and finish it on Saturday.
The match resumed after 1pm Polish time. In the first seven games, they both broke each other and it seemed that a tie-break might be necessary. In the eighth game Nadal took advantage of Djoković's mistakes and broke Serb again, and after a moment he defended three break points and used a set ball. Thus, the fifth party was necessary to select the winner.
In the fifth set both tennis players carefully watched their application. This resulted in the fact that in the first seven games only once the winner won more than one ball. At 4: 3 for Djoković Serb had a break point, but Nadal managed to defend himself, and then keep the pass.
"Nole" was in trouble with his next pass, but he defended two break points and went out again to lead. In the next games both of them probably won their applications 6: 6. According to the rules at Wimbledon, there is no tie-break in the last set, which meant that the game for the advantage began.
Djoković and Nadal have won their passes for a long time, although Serb had a match ball. However, he did not manage to use it. The second opportunity took place at 9: 8 and 40: 0 for Djoković.
This time "Nole" has not wasted a chance and he will play in the final round against Kevin Anderson from South Africa.
