On the WTA tour the car has long gone downhill, and this is a girl who can stop this steep fall.

20 years ago, the capital of Belarus got its new member, a member who will print new pages of tennis history. A great arsenal of shots, aggressive baseliner, powerful serve with psychic stabiliity ranked as the main favorite to inherit the Serena Williams. Her name is Aryna Sabalenka.

She made her first tennis steps in her hometown when she has 6 years old. Unnlike most of her colleagues, Aryne skipped her junior career and started off with low-listed professional tournaments at the age of 14. Winning several smaller tournaments at the beginning of 2016, joins the top 300 clubs, to finish the year on the 137th place of the world list. In the meantime, she also debuted in a FED cup.

2017 brings a lot of good for her. The debut attendance at the Grand Slam, the title of the Mumbai Open, the finals in Tianjin, the finals of the Fed Cup, and the dream of every child who wants to be involved in sports, a match with her idol, a Maria Sharapova. All this resulted in the year's ending at 73rd place.

The year 2018 brings a real boom and full affirmation. Winning the finals of Carla Suarez Navaro, Sabalenka won her first titles in Premier category (Connecticut Open).

Shortly after the Connecticut Open, her second title from the premier category, Wuhan. On the way to the finals she threw out Carla Suarez Navaro, Sofia Kenin, Ashleigh Barty, Elina Svitolina and Dominika Cibulkova. In the final, she got a routine game and bought a ticket to enter the top 20 world players.

A tournament is in progress in China where Aryne arrived to the quarterfinals by releasing the Garbine Muguruza and Carolin Garcia.

We will see how much progress will be made by the end of the year, but one thing is certain, the WTA tour got a new champion and it is only a matter of days when Sabalenka will look at the rest of the caravan from the top.
