WHO IS NAOMI OSAKA????

If you follow the Tennis Game, you will know who Osaka is.

Naomi Osaka was born on the 16th of October, 1997 she is currently 21 years old. She lived in the US from an early age. She defeated former US champion Samantha Stosur at the age of sixteen and came to prominence, during the 2014 Bank of the West Classic. That was her first time in the draw of a WTA Tournament. She came to the rank of 50 two years later at the 2016 Toray Pan Pacific Open.

BREAKTHROUGH YEAR:

2018 was and is still her breakthrough year. She Indian Wells in march, when she beat former world number ones Karolina Pliskova and Maria Sharapova in the first round and quarter finals, then she defeated current no 1 Halep Simona in the Semi-finals.

However, in September, she set a record by winning the 2018 US OPEN defeating 23-time grand slam champion SERENA WILLIAMS in the Final and that made her become the first Japanese player to win a grand slam singles tournament.

She achieved this at the age of 20.
