Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has revealed his future plans after withdrawing from the US Open, the fourth major Grand Slam tournament.

Novak Djokovic was bidding farewell to the US Open from the knockout stage after pulling out of his opponent Stan Wawrinka because of a shoulder injury.

Novak Djokovic, a top seed, was denied the chance to continue defending his title at the US Open, the last major Grand Slam tennis, and forced him to withdraw from the fourth round against Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka after falling behind two sets.

Djokovic, crowned with four major titles in the last five Grand Slam tournaments, has suffered a pain in his left shoulder since the start of the tournament and withdrew from his meeting with Wawrinka on Sunday when he was 6-4, 7-5, 2-1.

Djokovic expressed his hopes for several end of the season, after the injury suffered in Flushing Meadows, noting that he will get a month's rest, to return at the Japanese Open.

Novak is also committed to Shanghai, Paris, the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup with its new system in Madrid.
