Only two matches in each group were enough to decide semifinalists of the Women’s Volleyball World Championship in Japan. Those matches were tensely anticipated, as if you would wait for a challenge result…
And they were exciting. The last chance for Japan and USA. Both failed in two thrilling five-setters. Italy defeated Japan 3:2 and Netherands sent USA home with the same result.
